Advantages: Quick, convenient disguise for greasy roots

Disadvantages: Spray on too much and you'll look grey with epic dandruff

I first bought this when I had a 2 hour commute into work - some days, I frankly couldn't be bothered to wash and dry my hair at 6am! I have thick, long hair that needs washing every other day as the roots get greasy and it takes ages to dry it. A girl I used to work with recommended Batiste dry shampoo as she used it, and it's really useful. You hold the can about 30cm away from your hair and spray it on your roots, then rub it into your hair, leave for a few moments, and brush it out. It absorbs the grease and makes your hair look and feel fresh, although won't return it to it's freshly washed glory. It does seem to wear off a bit during the day, but will last a day at work. It also smells nice, quite fresh (I really wasn't sure what sort of smell to expect so was pleasantly surprised!).

It's available from Boots and Superdrug, and costs about £1.80 for a 150ml can, and there are 3 different smells (I am reliably informed the tropical one is good for hiding roots on highlighted hair as it's slightly yellow!). The only problem I've found with it is that if you spray too much you get a white residue on your scalp (like really severe dandruff!). I have no probems brushing it out as I have blonde hair, but I don't know how well it would brush out of dark hair as it comes out of the can white.

To sum up, it's a useful product for those days where you oversleep or are running late (or feeling a bit lazy!). It's not a complete substitute for real shampoo but then it's not trying to be, and does it's job well.

Summary: A good quick fix for greasy hair

It just seems to take my hair back to looking like day old hair (which is fine), but if I use too much my hair looks a bit grey and feels a bit dusty (good look!). So, basically, if you use it sparingly it's good!

Years ago I used to use a similar Swartzkopf product - but it made my hair feel like a wig, and froze it into odd angles! Any sign of this with the Batiste?

I could use some of this myself for those emergency sleep in mornings where you just don't have time to wash and dry. I used one years ago and it was awful, but may give this a bash. Thanks for the review!
