Batiste Dry Shampoo - The in-between shampoo, perfect for hair that feels greasy and lifeless between washes!!

Batiste Dry Hair Shampoo is one of my great little beauty finds, a product I really wouldn't be without. My hair is quite greasy but sometimes I don't always want to wash it everyday as I feel sometimes that makes it worse. Also I have probably just spent ages the day before straightening it, styling it etc and can't be bothered to do that 2 days in a row. This is where the dry shampoo is a lifesaver. It really is a product that saves you time.

I generally have always used the original version of the product but in the last couple of months I have switched over to the Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo. It is virtually the same product but this comes with a tropical smell. The smell actually is quite fruity and reminds me of pineappley, holiday smell. It is quite a sweet smell but not too overpowering or sickly. However, I do notice that the smell stays on your hair all day when you use the product so if you want a natural fresh smell to your hair I would not recommend this to you. I think it's nice though and almost makes you feel like you are on holiday!!

It comes in a 150ml spray can just like the original version. However, you can tell the difference as this can is bright yellow and has palm tress style leaves printed on it to give it a "tropical" look. I always buy mine in Boots where it costs £2.09 per can. This is good as I have seen some other dry shampoo's out there from places such as Bumble and Bumble that cost upwards of £20. It says on the can, "refreshes and revitalises hair between washes."

This product is extremely convenient and also very quick to use which is why it's such a time saver, especially in the mornings. When you spray it onto your hair it comes out in a fine mist much like the consistency of talcum powder. A common misconception with the Tropical version is that the powder is a yellow colour, it's not, it's the same colour as the original version.

To use you shake the can first, hold the nozzle a little way away from your hair and then spray lightly onto your hair, concentrating on all the greasy areas. Beware: this gets everywhere! As it is a talc light mist if you spray it in the air it falls onto all your surfaces and covers them in a light powder so I would recommend not using over black surfaces where it will really show up.

After you have sprayed it on I suggest leaving it on for a few minutes. I then get my brush and brush/shake the excess powder off. Make sure you brush it out everywhere or it leaves a greyish powder in your hair that makes you look like you've got grey hair.

The best thing about this product is that it really really works. Once used it takes all the grease out of my hair, especially at the roots. It also gives my hair a bit of volume which is nice and sometimes it looks even better than if I have just washed it. If you have quite dull and lank hair this will really perk it up. I have quite dark blond hair and I find this spray also lights it up quite a bit which is nice. I tend to find you can only use it for one or two days after washing your hair, anymore and the effect does not really work and the greasy look will still come through.

The container is pressurised as it works with butane and is extremely flammable. I find it's best to keep it in a dark place such as a bathroom cabinet. I would say that I use this product every other day and a can probably lasts for about three weeks which is quite good value.

There are other varieties available, the original version which I have mentioned and also I see there is now a Blush version which comes in a pink can and has a smell which includes orange/freesia, peony and lily which may be well worth a try but for now I am going to stick with the Tropical version, a great beauty product for anyone with hair!!
