Advantages: a brilliant product and i wouldn't be without it!!!

Disadvantages: slightly sickly lingering smell

It isn't often that I get to be amazed.. I'm not generally an "amazed" kind of person. I tend to try to maintain a pragmatic approach to things and report as balanced a view as possible on here. But this product blew me away.

I woke one morning in a massive panic with approximately 40 minutes to complete a 45 minute journey to work, get dressed, washed, teeth cleaned etc.. With the best will in the world it wasn't going to happen! so I had to sacrifice something and that something was my hair. Instantly on leaving the house I knew this was a mistake. My hair felt greasy and heavy and made me feel really self concious.. brushing just served to make it feel worse.

A few weeks previously I had rated a review on here on a product named "Batiste" a "dry shampoo". Now I have heard of dry shampoo previously but, naively thinking "how on earth can that work" never pursued it further. I was very impressed with the product afer the review and my nightmare hair day gave me the ideal chance to give it a try!

**price and availability**

I purchased the product for £1.98 for a 150ml can in my local tesco. I do know people who have purchased it for cheaper but generally by pence.
The product is widely available on line but also sold in larger branches of the main superstores. Superdrug and boots also hold it in stock in their larger branches.
When i went to tesco I did have to search for it as it wasnt with the usual shampoos but in the "hair odds and s*ds" section. The canister is small enough to fit into a hand bag, probably on comparisson with a deodorant can which is exceptionally handy.

**Use**

The product is available in 2 smells for want of a better term, original, which i am unable to comment on as i have not tested this (yet) and Tropical which was the product that i purchased. giving the can a vigorous shake and holding it a bend arms length from your head spray it in short bursts over the worst areas of your hair, expecially the crown and fringe. shaking frequently. This will turn your hair a rather fetching shade of grey. Using your fingers vigorously rub the product in to the roots as you would a normal shampoo and leave for a few moments before brushing out.

**Word of advice, do not, during "leave a few moments" stage, attend to young children, rescue boiling pot from stove, answer phone and then leave the house forgetting it is there. A friend of mine did exact same thing, rushed to train, got on train, wondered why so many strange looks and then remembered!!! oops**

**My opinion**

When I first used the product I noticed that the spray was very easy to press and distributed evenly throughout my hair. The tropical smell though was slightly sickly and lingered for some time after use. I followed the directions according to the canister and brushed my hair out after about 30 seconds. I was absolutely astounded to see that my hair immediately lost its lanky greasy appearance and appeared shiney bouncy and strangely thicker than it had previously appeared. It really did look asthough it had been washed. the heavier areas around my ears didn't look quite as clean but was a massive improvement on its previous look. I felt confident again to be seen in public!!

as mentioned previously the smell did linger for quite some time and was slightly sickly. I did wonder whether my colleagues around me were able to smell it.

The product is packaged in a usual aerosol container and contains the usual propellants as its main ingredients. Sadly it does not say whether the canister is made from recycleable products or indeed whether the plastic cap and nozzle can be recycled. The product is devoid of linomene and linalol which i know some of our dooyoo readers are allergic to so a good product for those people to use. It would appear that rice starch is the main absorbant ingredient in the product along with denatured alcohol. which would explain both the absorbancy and the shine.

All in all a brilliantly effective, exceptionally reasonably priced product that I would recommend to any female that requires a little hair care. As i tend to brush my hair alot my hair quite often looses its bounce by the end of a 12 hour shift so a wee spruce with this peps me back up again until the end of the day.
Suitable for all kind of purposes where a hair wash is neither convenient or available, although I would recommend those sensitive to smells opt for the original version of the product

The product looses one star for the sickly smell and potential for forgetfull embarrassment!!

Summary: Give it a go!!!
