Advantages: Does what is says it does, cheap
Disadvantages: Leaves my hair a little dull
The aim of a dry shampoo is that it acts as a pick me up to hair between washes. This particular brand I picked up in Boots and is usually priced around £1.99 for a 150ml aerosol.
Now I have A LOT of hair, its long and thick and consequently gets in the way a lot of the time. I espeially have an awful habit of pushing back the front, which means that I often have normal hair except at the roots and in hot weather my hair tends to stick to where I sweat...lovely! So I needed a product that stopped me from washing my hair twice a day and this seemed to do the trick.
The packaging is a yellow tin with some tropical leaves (as this is the tropical version) and does look very appealing for someone who is going on holiday as this is the time when you get the worst greasy roots and where hair suffers most. Definitely puts you in a holiday mood though along with buying your sun cream.
You spray on the aerosol on the greasier parts of your hair and then leave it for a couple of minutes, rub it in then brush it out. The spray comes out white so you can see where you are spraying it which is a good feature. The smell of the tropical flavour is a little yukky though. It stays for a while and is a bit odd when you have only sprayed a part of your hair. It's way too sweet and strong and to be honest makes me feel a bit ill so I will be buying the other version next time.
If you only use this on occasion the aerosol lasts quite a while but the problem with having so much hair is that I go through it quite quickly because I have to use so much. Also it does make my roots look a little dull whilst the rest of my hair is shiny. Also having red hair it also makes my roots look lighter than the rest, which I imagine is OK if you are blonde but if you have dark hair you may also get a little dull greyish patch.
All in all it is a useful product and it does work. It has saved me many times when I have clambered out of bed on a hangover needing to face the world for a quick cigarette trip. It doesn't clean your hair so don't be confused by the "shampoo" claim it just soaks up the grease that already exists. It's great for summer holidays when your hair takes a battering and I think it would be a great product for busy people, especially those with kids who they need to look reasonable in the morning to take them to school but don't have time to prepare themselves as they are preparing the little ones. Just don't go overboard as you might find it difficult to rub or brush out (I have done this on more than one occasion). It's so easy to use and great value for money. I think every woman should have a tin in her cupboard for those
emergencies!
