Advantages: Brilliant emergancy hair wash, washes hair in less than two mins, no drying involved.
Disadvantages: Can be hard to brush it all out.
This product is absolutely amazingly brilliant, I know couldn't live without it.
What is it ? - Batiste dry shampoo is a spray shampoo that refreshes hair in between washes. It comes in a 150ml aerosol can which depending on hair length and thickness this should last you about 10-15 applications.
The average price is about £2.00 although often in boots they do an offer so you can get two for £3.00 and they are usually included in the 3 for 2 hair care deals.
It is based on the old fashioned idea of using talcum powder to take some of the limpnness out of hair, but this is obviously easier and tidier to use.
When you spray it, it will cover your hair in a white powder substance but don't worry it will brush out.
Why would I need it ? - Well I am sure, like me most people have those days where with every good intention you set the alarm clock for six thirty because you know you need to wash your hair in the morning. Then when six thirty comes and the snooze button wins the battle of wills, it is suddenly half past seven and you have ten minutes to get ready.
Well Batiste dry shampoo is your answer and will transform dull, lifeless and greasy limp hair into full bodied, clean looking hair in an instant.
Sounds good, how do I use it ? - Batiste is so simple to use, you simply spray it all over your hair, rub it in with your fingers and after a few moments brush it all out. There are two main golden rules to achieving a natural and good dry wash and they are
1 = Always shake the can as hard as you can before the first spray and in between each spray.
2 = Brush your hair really really well after using Batiste, brush it until you think all the powder is out and then brush it some more, because if you don't brush it well enough it may look like you have a dandruff problem.
Batiste comes in different fragrances, there is the original, tropical, pink grapefruit and I saw some other ones in superdrug yesterday. I personally like the tropical as it is quite subtle but does give you a hint of summer.
This is well worth having in your drawer, it is certainly not an everyday use as I am sure after a few days the powder would build up. But as an emergency or holiday use it is brilliant.
Summary: This is such a fantastic product, every girl or boy with long hair needs this in their drawer.
