Advantages: Does exactly what is says on the can
Disadvantages: none
I like to think that I always make an effort with my appearance and always like to look my best but since having my little boy I have had a lot less time and money to spend on myself so luxuries and endless amounts of time titivating in front of a mirror is a thing of the past, but this doesn't mean that my need to look my best has gone, in fact it is quite the opposite I have found the need to look my best a lot greater and always seem to find that I am comparing myself to others and picking fault with things, but my main fault has always been with my hair.
My hair if not washed Dailey seems to either look dull, greasy, fly away or just a complete mess so find myself in the shower washing my hair at completely inappropriate times. Now this doesn't sound too much of a problem but with the washing of the hair comes the blow-drying it straight, the straightening itself and the pulling and tutting when it still doesn't live up to my standards so the whole process is a nightmare if especially if I need to get ready in a hurry. So it is pretty clear that anything that could help with this would be a god send.
Now it was completely by chance that I came across a couple of reviews on Dooyoo for this Batiste tropical dry shampoo and they were all very positive so I thought what the hell anything is worth a shot even though I was still very sceptical that it would have the same effect on my hair. So one lunch break from work I went down to Tesco, straight to the shampoo isle and there it was a bright yellow can with a green lid it stuck out like a sore thumb so I grabbed it without a second thought and dropped in into my basket at £1.99 it didn't matter if it worked or not although I prayed that it would.
The product description.
As I said the product is in a bright yellow cylindrical aerosol can with a green lid, It has green palm leaves on the front as decoration with the Batiste, Tropical dry shampoo written in the middle of the can. It states on the front that it refreshes hair between washes in 3 different languages, the first being English and on the back of the can is the typical jargon about the product, directions for use and the cautions which I will go into more detail about later
So when I got home, I went straight upstairs to try the product, having left my brush at home for the first time ever I could not try it any sooner so by the time I got home I couldn't wait to try it. I sat on the bed in front of my dresser mirror and read the inscription. This product claims to people with very good eye sight (as written in very small lettering) that "Batiste dry shampoo with a deliciously exotic fragrance revitalises greasy, lifeless and dull hair between washes, instantly leaving your hair feeling clean, full of body and smelling beautiful". Yeah great, I purchased the 150ml can as it was the only size available which I think looks like a good size for a hair care product and as I will not be using it everyday I expect that it may last a while, although I do believe you can now get a 50ml can which would be handbag friendly and a great trial size, but as I have not seen this I cant comment on the price.
The smell
Ok so after reading the description I thought I best have a smell (didn't occur to me to do this before I bought the product but as I said I was desperate) So my opinion would be that I was surprised by the smell. it smelt very much of coconut and although there was a chemical smell to it it was not as strong as I had expected, the smell was very light and fresh, which reminded me of summer so I was already impressed by the product and the real test of how well it worked on my hair had not even been done.
Directions
Now the directions are on the back of the can in very small lettering but it states in capitals "SHAKE CAN VIGOROUSLY BEFORE USE AND IN-BETWEEN SPRAYS" so I guess by that it doesn't mean I give it a half hearted shake, so you hold can 30 cm away from hair and spray lightly and evenly all over your hair, (ok I may use a little more than a light spray on my first attempt as I am still quite sceptical) 2) run fingers through your hair (easy enough) 3) comb out preferably with a brush that has natural bristles, 4) you now have great hair. Ok this sounds too simple to be true but now I am ready to use.
Test
So im shaking the can vigoursly and doing a little dance, and now spraying, the smell is not too strong that it chokes you but very pleasant, I shake again and spray over
the rest of my hair, the spray itself comes out of the can with quite a powerful squirt and covers quite a good area of my hair so only took me three squirts on my just passed shoulder length hair to be satisfied that I had covered it completely with enough spray to work (if it is going to) which is probably a bit more than I would use next time when im aware of what the product can do.
I now run my fingers through my hair and im very surprised that there is no stickiness like I was expecting, my hair did not feel weighted down by the product like I expected and there was no obvious signs that it was in my hair, so far so good I am very impressed by this product.
Ok I have now waited a couple of minutes and am brushing my hair through to get all of the dry shampoo out and to my surprise my hair looks 100x better, I am truly astonished with the results, my hair is smooth, shiny, and smells great, no sign of the greasy hair that I had 3 minutes ago.
Caution
pressurised container, do not store in high temperatures above 50 degrees Celsius, do not burn even after use, and do not spray on naked flames, avoid spraying in eyes and keep away from children all of which can be found on any aerosol can.
Would I recommend this product 100% yes as soon as I used this product I thought about writing a review as I have not been as impressed with anything in my life so without a doubt I would recommend this to male or females and that 2-3 minutes means I will always look my best and never be late again ( well unless I cant decide on my outfit)
Summary: totally recomended and at £1.99 it is a real bargin
