Disadvantages: None
Introduction
----------------
I have been delighted to use the Coconut and Almond Boots Intensive Hair Mask from the "Boots Ingredients" range for some weeks now, and have found it to be a good product with excellent results.
Price
------
This large pot containing 350mls retails in Boots for the amazingly cheap price of £1.95. The tub looks aesthetically really lovely as the packaging has been recently revamped, and now shows the inside of a gleaming white coconut and a whole almond. This makes the item look not only tropical but also lovely on the bathroom shelf.
Use
------
The product is a hair treatment designed to be used when hair is particularly in need of tender loving hair, so would be excellent for sunny holidays, and if your hair has suffered the ravages of too many straightening sessions and has become on the dry side. It is part of a group of hair care products and so is an accessory to these. I have used the matching shampoo and conditioner, and have found these to be also of excellent quality and value.
Method of Application.
---------------------------
The instructions are to apply to damp hair after shampooing, and to leave for 5 minutes to allow the product to have maximum impact, and then to rinse thoroughly.
My Opinion and My Usage.
--------------------------------
I have recently been converted to many of the Lush solid shampoo bars as these are excellent, but the solid conditioners are limited, and so this product makes a great supplement to these, as well as being a good extra to compliment the Boots range.
I have long shoulder length hair which is coloured, and I have weaved highlights too, so as well as using GHD straighteners every day my hair is subjected to a lot of treatments. This is on top of the places I love to go, such as the Outer Hebrides in Scotland, where my hair is blown about and battered to the extent which would test any hair product to the limits!
When I first bought this I was actually attracted to the beautiful packaging, and the fact that it was coconut scented, because I love this scent so much. However because of the price I was sceptical that it would not actually work that well. The almond ingredients are lost in the coconut, which drowns any nut aromas, and the product aroma suggests summer holidays and sun tan lotion, like nothing else.
Each time I have washed my hair in the matching shampoo or a Lush solid shampoo and then applied this I have been totally impressed. It coats the hair beautifully and the glistening white cream smells absolutely divine.
The comb runs right through it with ease, and it makes the hair smooth and easy to straighten, with outstanding results every time. I have tried this for many weeks as I think cheap products need to have time allocated to them for fair appraisals, as they can often perform well the first time you use them and then let you down later down the line.
For the price this is absolutely incredible. I love everything about it, the smell, the performance and the cost. It has been particularly effective at banishing frizz especially on windy damp days, and it has left my hair soft, easy to manage and moisturised. It's an absolute bargain, lasts for ages, and it performs as well as many products which retail for 4 times the price.
Summary: A fantastic product.
