Advantages: Smells nice, is easy and fuss-free to use and works a little
Disadvantages: Doesn't work alot!
Because I wash my hair so regularly (I go to the gym and get sweaty and sit in spa full of chlorine from time to time!) my hair can get rather brittle and dried out feeling and looking. I do use intensive conditioners, usual conditioner after shampooing and have tried hot oils and things like that but my hair really can get dull looking and contains no natural body to it thus going limp! So I spotted this in Boots (Usual price £1.25) on special offer in Boots and decided it had to be worth a go!
The Packaging:
150ml clear, tall, cylinder plastic bottle with a push button sprayer to the top of it with a clear safety cap that slips on and off easily. On the front there is a white label and on that there is a picture of a slice of coconut and an almond and I'm told it is Boots 'Ingredients' Coconut & Almond Leave-In Conditioner for 'Normal to dry hair'. On the back of the label other information includes being told a bit about the product and given directions for use, ingredients are listed and contact details for Boots are given. Nice simple looking bottle that is tidy to look at and informative enough (Please note the bottle isn't as flat looking as it appears on the review photograph at the top of this page as it has recently been changed slightly).
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:
With extracts of Coconut & Almond, Boots ingredients leave-in conditioner is specially formulated to moisturise and smooth, leaving hair soft and tangle free.
Directions For Use:
After shampooing towel dry hair. Spray conditioner from root to tip and comb through. For best results use with Boots ingredients coconut & almond shampoo.
Using It:
Well the liquid in the bottle in white and looks really thin. It sprays out of the bottle really easily (it isn't aeresol) and you simply pump it through towel dried hair. I personally comb mine before I do so and after applying it but just to clarify I use any shampoo I want to and not the one I'm recommended to.
Now for me this deliciously fresh smelling coconut conditioner (I cant smell the almond extract) is far too thin to use purely after shampooing with no regualr conditioner as used that way it does nothing for me but fragrance my hair so I shampoo and condition as normal as my hair is so dry and tangly and needs more than this offers!
However used after shampoo and conditioning I find this a nice little added extra. It absorbs into my hair while scenting it at the same time and then you can leave your hair to dry naturally or blow dry and if you wish to, use styling products too.
This very gently hydrates hair, makes hair look and feel softer and the fragrance (although it calms down considerably since when first sprayed on) does stay gently smelling for a good few hours.
This is so light on the hair it doesn't weigh the it down and make it appear lifeless. For me (with naturally wavy hair) it seems to calm down frizz a little and I get less flyaways. My greasy roots are also not upset by this at all.
If you have hair that's in reasonably good condition then I'm sure this would be great for you. If you have problem hair (like mine) then I'd think of adding this to your usual conditioning regime. You can also spray this on dry hair if you desire and I've found that fine too because it does spray out evenly and of course along with the gentle softness this provides to the hair it also freshens it up!
I like this but I couldn't use this alone on my hair as it isn't conditioning enough for my needs. However it's easy to use, smells nice and does seem to soften, detangle (and keep my hair tangle free) and help my hair appear shiny and vibrant. You don't need loads of it either so it's economical and me I'll buy it again!
Only available in Boots.
Summary: Try it for yourself whilst it on offer!
