“ Brand: Boots / Type: Hair Shampoo / What it does: Smoothes, „
I'm currently using the Boots Ingredients Coconut and Almond range of hair care products. I'm not brand loyal when it comes to shampoos and conditioners, I'm happy to use whichever products happen to be on offer or seem to be the best value.
The Boots Coconut and Almond Shampoo costs just £1.29, and it comes in a 300ml bottle. The shampoo itself it quite a thick shampoo, and its a thick clear liquid. It states that it's for normal to dry hair, my hair is probably normal and maybe just a little on the dry side so this seems perfect for me.
This is formulated with extracts of coconut and almond, and you can definitely smell the coconut in this. It's quite an intense coconut smell, both in the bottle and when you are using it in the shower, I also find that the coconut fragrance lingers in my hair for the rest of the day as well. The lingering coconut fragrance isn't too overpowering in my hair, but it's just subtle enough to be noticeable if I've wafted my hair. The fragrance of this shampoo reminds me of summer, sun tan lotion and summer holidays, it's quite a sweet fragrance, but it's not too sickly sweet. I can't smell the almond in this at all, the coconut is literally the only thing that I can smell.
As with all shampoos the directions for use are; massage shampoo into wet hair, rinse and repeat if necessary, for best results use with Boots Ingredients Coconut and Almond Conditioner. I've never ever done the 'rinse and repeat if necessary' step with any shampoo, I don't think that it is necessary, I think that this just makes you use up the shampoo twice as fast and so end up buying twice as much of it! I do always follow the shampoo with the matching conditioner though. I'm alternating between the regular coconut and almond conditioner, and the coconut and almond intensive hair mask; as I always get through two bottles of conditioner to every one bottle of shampoo.
I find that this shampoo lathers up well on my hair in the shower, and that I don't need to use a lot of it to create a rich and foamy lather. It rinses out well and it leaves my hair feeling squeaky clean in the shower, before then following it with the matching conditioner. Once my hair is dry it definitely feels and looks very healthy and clean, and it is lovely and soft and shiny after using these products. I normally wash my hair around 3 times a week and this has stayed the same whilst using this shampoo, so it hasn't caused my hair to go greasy or to need washing any sooner. I also find my hair to be just as easy to style whilst using this shampoo.
Overall I'm happy with this for the low price, I think that like most shampoos it works best with the matching products, and I'd more than happily buy this again.
I am 43, wash my hair daily and couldn't believe how wonderful this shampoo is of all the shampoos I have ever used and I have used quite a wide range. My hair is a little greasy at the roots, but dry along its length and at the ends. You only need a little of this product and hair gets wonderfully clean and fragrant.Plus, I really get a special joy in using the complementary 'Leave-in Conditioner' afterwards as instructed, as I like spray dispensers like the one this conditioner comes in.This shampoo and the abovementioned conditioner are a welcome and delightful 'team' which gets my hair the way I like it.Thank you Boots and thank you for the ever so affordable prices of these products. Mwaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!
I picked this shampoo up in Boots about three weeks ago for a £1. I normally use the Bed Head range but currently I am on maternity leave and trying to save money wherever possible. The shampoo has a fantastic smell it reminds me of suntan lotion and being on holidays.
It states on the bottle that it is for normal to dry hair. My hair is very dry as I highlight it and punish it daily with the hairdryer and straighteners. The shampoo is clear and you only need to use a small amount about the size of a grape. This suprised me as I thought that as the shampoo was cheap I would need to use loads of it to get a lather. It lathers up very well and it rinsed off easily.
My hair felt very dry after using just the shampoo, you really need to use it with the conditioner. When I used the two together my hair felt soft and looked shiny. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget it has a nice smell and a bottle lasts a long time with daily use.
My nan bought this shampoo on sale for 99p in Boots and as it was in the shower when I was about to wash my hair, I thought I would try it.
The bottle is clear so you can see the shampoo inside which is also clear. The label shows a picture of a coconut with white writing on it. This shampoo is meant for dry hair and promises to moisturise and smooth dry hair for softness, shine and tangle free hair.
It smells gorgeous but I am biased as I love the smell of coconut anyway. It is a little bit runny when you pour it out so could have been thicker for ease of use. It lathered really well on my hair and a little bit went a long way. I could see this 300ml bottle lasting me a good month and I was my hair every other day. The lather rinsed out easily so I wasn't stood there for ages trying to get the bubbles out. It does say for best results use with the Boots coconut and almond oil conditioner but I didn;t have that so was unable to try it. Afterwards my hair smelt more of my conditioner than coconut but I would imagine that if you used the conditioner as well it would give you quite nice smelling hair. I dye my hair a lot so it is dry. This shampoo left it really shiny and soft but my hair was frizzy within an hour so no smoothness for me.
I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this product but there are a lot worse out there.
My wife and I were traveling and had a lay over in London. While shopping in the airport, we found the Boots "Coconut Almond" shampoo to try. I enjoy the smell of the shampoo and the silkiness of the conditioner. I have a problem with my scalp and this shampoo was great. My scalp will break out with most shampoos but not this one! I also picked up a bottle of the conditioner and my wife has used it and finds it works very well on her hair. I would recommend this shampoo and conditioner to anyone that might have a scalp problem. We have been willing to pay high prices for shampoo due to my problem but this one is very reasonable. I have a cabinet full of shampoos that cost more than this one but my scalp will break out with them. My problem is I am unable to find a place in the US to purchase this shampoo. Can someone tell me where to buy this in the US? Thanks. Royce Sweatman
Having read some really positive reviews for Boots Coconut and Almond Shampoo on Dooyoo I decided to try it to see if the shampoo was as good as it was being portrayed to be. At £1.26 I was delighted as it certainly is a good price if it works!
A few years back Sunsilk used to do a summer shampoo which had a beautiful coconut smell. This always used to remind me of holidays and being on the beach. Sadly it was discontinued, like so many other products I have fallen in love with over the years. However, this Boots alternative sounded ideal as the combination of coconut and almond together suggested holidays to me like nothing else.
I wanted to wait for a few days to try this out over several washes so that I could paint an accurate picture for you of the results. I often find with cheap shampoos that they are good for once, but then after subsequent uses they become drying and less effective, necessitating multiple half bottles in the bathroom waiting to be used up which I hate.
This bottle has recently been repackaged from the photo shown on Dooyoo and it is now in a more upright bottle. All credit to Boots for the superb label which has a piece of glistening coconut above a lovely fresh almond. It looks enticing and you can't wait to try it. Suitable for normal to dry hair this is perfect for me, as I have long highlighted and coloured hair, which sees rather a lot of my straighteners on a daily basis too.
The shampoo itself is easily dispensed through a flip top lid and it is clear, not milky, so that was a surprise. It lathers up beautifully and there is a wonderful smell of coconut as you use it. It was so lovely I actually left it on for a few minutes while soaking in the bath just to enjoy the smell which was luxurious enough to have come from a bottle 4 times the price or more. I did follow with the matching conditioner and towel dried my hair after rinsing.
This is where I always put my tangle comb to the test. If it runs straight through the hair easily without resistance then it is a great product and sure enough it did. I can honestly say that this has been a very impressive set of results for me. I have used this for a week each morning, and so far my hair is as soft as I have grown to expect with more expensive favourites such as Aussie, or slightly cheaper but also good Elvive with Royal Jelly. This beats them both on price though, and on smell I think on reflection it is my favourite-taking me to sand in between the toes on distant shores in moments.
Boots have really succeeded with this and I notice from their online site that there are many other items under this collective heading, including hand wash, and shower gels. I can't wait to buy these, and I also have the matching hair mask currently under trial in my bathroom and awaiting the final results.
This is a product which I can't recommend highly enough; it is a pleasure to use and is extremely budget friendly.
It has only been the past few months I have actually been buying shops own brands to try save myself a bit of money, but this one shampoo I have always got stocked up in my bathroom.
I like to try new shampoos all the time just so my hair doesn't become prone to one shampoo and begin to get dry, which it often does unfortunately.
Once whilst treating myself to a cut and blowdry in a not so cheap, but stunning hairdressers near me they told me my hair and scalp was quite dry, so they told me they were going to use a shampoo designed especially for dry hair and scalps. As they lathered it into my scalp the smell of coconut flowed around me, it smelt divine! I LOVE the smell of coconut, it's one of them 'things' which make me smile, and also reminds me of summer (something else which makes me smile) and holidays. I asked the hairdresser what shampoo what she was using and she told me it was one they bought from their hairdressers retailers so wasn't sure what one it was, but coconut shampoos are suited to dry hair as it nourishes hair and scalp.
This is what made me decide to shop around for a nice smelling coconut shampoo. When trying out new shampoos I do like to have a whiff, I mean it does always help if you like the smell of what you are washing your hair with doesn't it?. Well I came across Boots own Coconut and Almond Oil Shampoo for just £1.30 a 300ml bottle. I flipped open the lid, and the smell was strong, coconutty and sweet exactly how I wanted it to smell. I couldn't resist I had to buy it, especially for that price (and of course earning my Boots Advantage Card points back at the same time). I also purchased the conditioner, as my hair is terrible for getting knotty.
The shampoo is a lovely consistency so not to much comes out of the bottle when you are squeezing it onto your hand, instead it just dribbles a little, perfect when you just want a blob about the size of a 50 pence piece in the palm of your hand. It lathers up beautifully, and as the shampoo lathers in your hair the smell of coconut gets stronger. I can't really smell almond to be honest, but this doesn't put me off as the fresh coconut aroma is enough for me. After rinsing the shampoo and conditioner off, my hair, no actually my whole head feels and smells so clean, fresh and of course like coconut.
Now if you are somebody who likes the smell of coconut this shampoo really is a treat, especially if you have dry hair. It really does leave my hair feeling and also looking softer. Brilliant price too!
I was caught out recently and ran out of shampoo in the middle of the week, I live in a rural location with few major shops to hand so like to stock up at weekends when in town. Luckily I managed to get to my local tiny Boots store before it closed and grabbed the first bottle of shampoo I saw.
It turned out to be their own brand coconut and almond oil one, I hadnt used this before and was a little sceptical as it was so cheap and normally, well for me at least, cheap shampoos leave me cold. It cost me £1,29 for a 250ml bottle.
The following morning during my daily shower I gave the shampoo a try. I was immediately impressed by the fact the cap had a flip top lid, they make my life a lot easier as I hate having to faff about with screw tops when my hands are wet and soapy.
The smell of coconut hit me in the face straight away on opening the bottle, it took me back to the last holiday I had in sunnier climes and put a big smile on my face. The shampoo itself is thick but is easy to get out of the bottle, it has a creamy texture and felt wonderful as I massaged it into my hair and scalp.
I found this easy to rinse out and was impressed with how soft my locks felt, I had to use conditioner afterwards but this shampoo leaves my hair a lot softer than other cheap shampoos I've used in the past.
I would definitely buy this again and the matching conditioner for even more of a coconut hit. It's a bargain and not one to be overlooked. It compares very well with more expensive brands.
This Boots Coconut and Almond oil shampoo is available for £1.29 for a 300ml bottle, at Boots stores and Boots online.
This shampoo is specially designed for dry hair (it says this on the bottle).
This shampoo comes in a clear plastic bottle with a crew on clear plastic cap that also pops open so you don't have to unscrew it at all. There's a label on the front with "Boots Coconut and Almond Oil shampoo" written on it and a picture of a cut open coconut. Then on the back of the bottle, you'll find instructions, warnings about not getting the shampoo in your eyes and ingredients. The packaging is quite plain but ok since it's a Boots own brand.
The shampoo itself is of a clear colour and gel like consistency. It's not too watery, which, in my opinion is good, as it won't run out of your hair or not lather up enough. The scent of the shampoo is really lovely; it smells very sweet of coconuts and I think it's a very pleasant, exotic (holiday like) scent. The shampoo lathers up nicely, washes out easily and leaves the hair feeling soft and smooth. I then followed up with the coordinating conditioner and got really good results.
I must say, this shampoo isn't bad at all! The price is very reasonable; it smells great and made my hair soft and smooth, just what I hoped for. I'd definitely recommend this as its excellent value for money!
