Advantages: Simple to use

When I purchased my GHD straightners I received a gift pack with hair sectioning clips included. There were only two but I found them to be a lot more useful than using hair bobbles to tie parts of my hair back while straightening. While I was browsing boots I came across a four back of clips for just £3 so decided to treat myself. They are simple black clips nothing fancy and from the boots own range. When I blow-dry my hair or straighten it I need to make very small sections to control my hair in any sort of way. These clips are perfect for that as they hold a large amount of hair at one time, and as there are four of them there are more than enough to hold the excess hair back while I get to work.
What I really like about these clips is the size. They are large clips and a lot larger than my previous clips. I did find them awkward to use at first but this is only because I had been using smaller ones previously. I have hair that falls past my shoulders, and I do have fine hair just lots of it. I find these clips can hold a large amount of my fine hair without any problems. Although they are simple clips they are designed not to tug at my hair when I remove them to sort the next sections of my hair out. I did find that sometimes my hair could pull with other sectioning clips as they get caught in the hinge of the clips, but these clips seem to be a lot better. I can both put them in easily, and remove them without any problem even with one hand.
I find these clips are very easy to use as they simply slide into my hair and grip the sections easily. Removing them and replacing them to a different area is very easy, quick and efficient. They are large so take up a large amount of room on my head when holding hair back. I do sometimes catch them with the straightners as I make my way around my hair, but they are very sturdy so even with a small knock they sit in place perfectly. You can use them easily with one hand to slide them in to place so your other hand is free to make sure no stray hairs escape. They work just as well on small amounts of hair in a section as they do with larger amounts. Just because they are large does not mean they are only suited to people with lots of hair as they adjust to each hair type.
They are long lasting as I have owned these for over a year and there are no signs of wear and tear. They are very basic but make styling my hair so much easier. I do not need to use all four of the clips even with my long fine hair, so I find there are more than enough clips in a pack. I would highly recommend these sectioning clips to anyone for making a simple job of sectioning you hair. They do work well in all hair types as my sister in law uses these and she has very short hair and she just uses fewer clips to section her hair.
