Dry Scalp Treatment Shampoo
Sometimes, especially in winter, I can be known to suffer from a bit of a dry scalp. I assume it's not dandruff because I don't get any white flaky bits but it can be quite sore if I scratch too much- as well as looking a tad unsightly.
A foray around Boots found me this and I bought it along with the conditioner.
~~What is it?~~
It promises to be a rich moisturising shampoo, which will give immediate relief to any irritation. It will gently cleanse hair whilst treating dry itchy or flaking scalp...just what I need. Noting too harsh or it will all feel worse!
~~Product and Packaging~~
The shampoo comes in a white 200ml bottle with all information and ingredients clearly written on the back of the bottle.
To get the shampoo out of the bottle, simply flip up the lid which reveals a small hole. The bottle doesn't need squeezing- simply press up the lid and hold the bottle upside down so that the shampoo can go into your hand.
The shampoo itself is quite thick and is a kind of yellow/cream colour. The consistency of the shampoo means that it is easy to get just the required amount out of the bottle- because it is quite thick, it doesn't come spilling out of the bottle as soon as the bottle is tipped upside down.
The shampoo has a very slightly medicated smell which isn't unpleasant, just very clean smelling.
~~How to use it~~
Wet your hair and apply the shampoo. As with other shampoos, this should be massaged gently- no scrubbing needed, and remember to get it into your scalp because this is where it's going to work.
~~The warnings...~~
Don't get it into your eyes- I assume it will sting.
It doesn't say who can use it, and there are no warnings about it being unsuitable for children under a certain age, but I don't think I would be using the shampoo on young children.
~~Price and Availability~~
Available online at www.boots.com or instore at Boots shops. The product costs £2.99 for 200ml.

~~My Verdict~~
I like this shampoo- it really did, when used in conjunction with the conditioner, make my scalp less dry.
The shampoo is hypoallergenic, and so unlikely to cause any adverse reactions. Himself has psoriasis which affects his scalp, and he had no nasty reactions to this shampoo, and did definitely notice some lessening of the itchiness.
The shampoo is easy to use, and using a small amount, I found that it lathers up well. When massaged into the scalp, it really does get a good lather, so hair feels as though it is getting a really good clean; I have found that some medicated shampoos feel a bit dry as I am washing my hair. Not too much of the shampoo is needed for each wash, and unless
For anyone with itchy or dry scalp, I would highly recommend this. It's easy to use, reasonably priced, and gives hair a good clean without making it your hair smell as though it's had a good scrub with medicated shampoo.
A good one!!
Thanks for reading.
