Boots expert thickening shampoo

I often buy the Boots Expert range and when this thickening shampoo was on special offer £1 in my local Boots store, i decided to give it a go. I don't have thinning hair but decided that if it made it thicker, that was good, and if all it did was give it a good clean then that also worked for me.
WHAT IS IT?
Obviously, it's a shampoo, which also claims to restore volume, moisture and body to fragile hair

PRODUCT AND PACKAGING...

As with all of the Expert range (or the ones I have tried) this comes in a fairly clinical looking white plastic bottle with all ingredients and instructions for use on the back. It has one of those lids which you press down to open and then the shampoo comes out of the spout; the lid is very difficult to press down so unless children are very strong, it's almost child proof (it took me both thumbs and a lot of pressure to open it!)
The shampoo itself comes out of the bottle quite easily, with just a little squeeze, and when I get it on to my hand, it is clear with a very very faint, almost unnoticeable medicated smell- no florals here.

The instructions tell me to apply it to wet hair, so I use my usual amount, apply the shampoo, and massage it into my hair and scalp. It does lather up nicely, and I feel that I am giving my hair a good clean. As I always do, I give my hair two washes with the shampoo, and am pleased to find that it is easy to rinse out, leaving no nasty residue when I dry my hair. It does sting a little bit but not too much if it gets into eyes so I don't think i would risk the screams and use this on Little Miss.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

This costs £2.93 FOR 200ML and is available instore or online at www.boots.co.uk. It's worth checking out the other products because there are often offers on the range.

VERDICT...

I have my doubts as to whether the shampoo actually thickened my hair although maybe I went wrong because it suggests that for best results i should use Boots Expert Leave in Conditioner. However, that said, it is a good shampoo which was easy to use and did leave my hair feeling very clean soft and manageable.

As i mentioned, it does sting the eyes but there is a warning not to get it into eyes, so not one which i would recommend for use on children.
A good shampoo for cleaning hair although i have my doubts as to the claims. However, i got it at such a bargain price that I would recommend it even at full price.

Thanks for reading.

Even though my hair is thick already, I might give this a go for the money -)
