Advantages: cheap

Disadvantages: not good on my hair

This is a review of Boots Ingredients coconut and almond shampoo for normal to dry hair.n I bought this and a couple of other shampoo / conditioners from the range in a three for two offer. My main thoughts were behind the main ingredients of the shampoo, I love the smell of coconut and also the fact that it was clear appealed as it would hopefully clean my hair well.

Packaging
The shampoo is only available in a 300ml bottle which is a good size in my opinion as it doesn't take up too much room on the side and is easy to lift. The top is a flip cap which works effectively to keep the product sealed when not in use. I liked the clean and simple lines of the white label which features a picture of the inside of a coconut balanced on an almond. The plastic bottle is also recyclable when finished with.

In use
I do have quite long hair and found I needed to use a lot of the product each time to get a decent lather going. It seemed quite runny and watered down so a 300ml bottle didn't last as long as I had hoped. I usually use a 50p sized amount of shampoo but I was using at least three times this. The smell was pleasant but not overpowering and did not linger long after washing. I used it with and without conditioner and whilst it cleaned my hair, the clean effect did not last beyond 24 hours. I was washing my hair more often whilst using this shampoo.

Price and availability
The shampoo was around £1.25 a bottle but as I mentioned above, it was on a 3 for 2 offer when I bought it so it seemed like a bargain at the time. The shampoo is exclusive to Boots and as such is only available from their stores.

Final word
I wasn't overly impressed with this shampoo. It felt quite cheap to me and I needed a lot each time I washed my hair. It reminded me of the free shampoos you get at the gym or in dispensers at hotels. The fragrance is nice but not long lasting. I thought this was a bargain when I first bought it but like the other shampoo I tried from this range I will not be repurchasing it in a rush!

Summary: Not one I can recommend
