      Disadvantages

An inexpensive shampoo that works well!

I'm always on the look out for a decent shampoo at a good price especially as I always seem to be washing my daughters' long hair. One shampoo that I often buy because it is such good value is Boots Rosemary and Mint shampoo. It is suited for normal to oily hair which is handy for us as we are all prone to a bit of greasiness.

The shampoo comes in a clear plastic bottle with a flip lid and contains 300 ml. It also has a shelf life of two years when opened so you're bound to use it all up in that time. The flip lid is a bit tricky to open which is handy if you don't want young children opening it up and spilling all of the contents in the bath. However my seven year old daughter is well capable of shampooing her own hair but I have to help her as she can't open the lid!

The shampoo is a bright green colour and is a good consistency as it does not pour out too fast from the bottle. Also with this good consistency, you do not need to pour too much in order to get a good lather. There is quite a strong almost clinical smell when you first pour but this seems to disappear as you lather and it certainly does not linger once the shampoo is washed out. All you are left with is a nice clean sensation.

The shampoo does lather well from just a small quantity and it does not take much to cover my daughters' long hair. It states on the bottle that the formula with rosemary and mint is especially designed to clean the hair and leave it soft and it really does seem to do that. My daughters' hair really feels and looks clean after washing although I do also always use conditioner on their hair too which I am sure also contributes. I am always pleased that the shampoo doesn't seem to leave any residue in the hair when rinsing. Although the girls never like getting any shampoo in their eyes, it does happen sometimes and this one does not seem to cause any lasting discomfort.

One of the things that I like most about this shampoo is the price which is only 89 pence for a 300 ml bottle. This compares very well with other shampoos in a similar range. Also, it is often on offer as part of a three for two deal so I like to stock up a bit at those times. It is also available only from Boots but this of course means that you might get some advantage points too.

Overall I can't fault this shampoo. It does what I want it to which is to clean our hair and combat the oiliness and it is also such a good price. I happily recommend it!

        Disadvantages

        Nice every-day shampoo!

I get through an awful lot of shampoo on a weekly basis on my just below shoulder length hair. I wash it everyday as I suffer with oily roots and split /dry ends and I hate the thought of my hair being grimy!

This I spotted in Boots costing £1.29 a bottle and as it was pacifically for normal/oily hair I thought it had to be worth a go!

        The Packaging:

300ml see-through plastic cylinder shaped bottle that has a matching flip-top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole. Around the bottle there is a white label with a photograph of mint and rosemary on there and I am told that it is Boots 'Ingredients' Rosemary & Mint Shampoo and as I have already stated it is meant for normal/oily hair. On the back of the label other information listed includes telling me a bit about the product and how to use it, ingredients, size and contact details for Boots are given. It's a simple enough looking bottle and very unisex in its appearance and of course as informative enough as it needs to be with the given information looking neat and tidy!

A Bit About The Product According To The Information Listed On The Back Of The Bottle:

With extracts of Rosemary & Mint Boots Ingredients is specially formulated to cleanse and soften hair for added vitality and shine. Created & developed by Boots.

        Using It:

Well all you need of this gel like mint green coloured liquid is a rather small blob. I isn't sticky when using it although it appears gel like and it has wonderful, fresh and natural fragrance of a well blended spearminty fragrance with a hint of rosemary to it and it is slightly sweetened up. I love the fresh fragrance of this. It lathers up into thick white bubbles with ease, feels cleansing and softening while its in use and rinses out with complete ease too.

Of course you can use this, rinse and repeat if desired which is what I always do with any shampoo just to really make sure my hair is left as clean as it can possibly be.

        Verdict:

Lovely fragrance, easy to use and economical what more could I want? Oh I could want it to fulfil its promises about being good for normal/greasy hair and I a happy to report not only does it leave my hair smelling gorgeous and fresh for hours it really does clean and remove any oily bits within my hair without stripping any natural oils I do need like around my split ends!

It leaves hair feeling soft, smooth and supple and not only removes grease after using it but I have noticed I produce less over time after using this in my opinion though of course it doesn't stop it permanently.

I like this shampoo on every level and won't hesitate buying this value purchase time and time again in the future!

Only available in Boots stores costing £1.29 a bottle.
