I buy a lot of Boots own hair products as I find they are always good value and also do a good job. I bought this 300ml bottle of Boots Pro Vitamin2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner for just £2.25 which will last me for around two or three months or maybe even longer. This is a 2 in 1 so it is shampoo and conditioner in one bottle which I find is okay for my hair which is in reasonable condition however if you have really dry hair then you may need a separate shampoo and conditioner where you can choose how much conditioner you need for your particular requirements.
It comes in a plastic bottle and it has the usual list of ingredients and instructions for use. As soon as you open the flip top lid you can smell a lovely fresh clean fragrance and it really is very pleasant.
To use I will squeeze about an inch and a half blob onto my hand and find that this is enough to cover my hair which is currently just shoulder length. It lathers up well and you can smell the lovely fruity smell as you are massaging it into your scalp and it feels quite thick and rich as you are working it in. When I am happy that I have covered all of my hair I will then rinse it off and find that it washes away easily and doesn't leave any residue.
Afterwards my hair feels soft straight away even when it is still wet and smells lovely. I can tell when I am drying it with the hair dryer that it has been conditioned as it always dries nice and smooth with no frizz or fly away hair which I get if I don't use any conditioner, so the conditioner part in this product does really work for me.
I think that if you can get this shampoo and conditioner 2 in 1 on offer then I really do recommend it as it smells lovely, lathers well and leaves your hair soft and quite shiny which I find makes it easier to style. I like using this 2 in 1 shampoo which won't break the bank and is suitable for all the family.
~Provitamin 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner~
This hair care product is exclusive to Boots. It is a 2 in 1 product and Boots claim that it will leave hair healthy looking, with enhanced shine, cleansed and feeling soft. The shampoo is suitable for all hair types and is gentle enough to be used daily. It contains a Pro-V amino complex.
The other products in this range include individual shampoo and conditioners, a volumising shampoo, a shine enhance shampoo and a smoothing conditioner.
This product is presented in a rather simple, white bottle. The bottle itself is tall and fairly slim. It is made from thick, squeezy plastic and features a flip top cap. There is a lot of product information present. The bottle can be recycled and this shampoo has a 24month shelf life.
The bottle isn't exactly eyecatching. Compared to the more colourful bottles on the shelves, it is very plain in appearance. This doesn't bother me much to be honest as it is practical to use and store in my bathroom.
~Price and Availability~
A 400ml bottle of this shampoo and conditioner is available from www.boots.com and instore priced at £1.99.
I like to change my hair care products around regularly. When I ran out of my Avon shampoo and conditioner, I made a mental note to buy something else on my next shopping trip. When visiting my Mum, I asked her to remind me to pick up some when we went out that afternoon as I have a memory like a sieve. Anyway, to save me a few pennies, she dived into her cupboard of goodies and presented me with a bottle of this Boots shampoo and conditioner.
To be fair, I am not a huge fan of 2 in 1 products and I didn't notice that this was one at first. I was simply happy and appreciative of the free product! I decided it was worth a try. I'm not overly fussy when it comes to hair care products. I have long, thick hair which needs washed 3 times a week. All I ask from a shampoo is that it leaves my hair clean, softens/or doesn't dry out my hair further and doesn't irritate my sensitive scalp.
This product has a pleasant consistency - thick, creamy and glossy. It is definitely more of a conditioner thickness than a shampoo thickness. I use a decent sized blob, perhaps the size of a £2 coin in diameter, for my shoulder length, thick hair. I find that this is more that sufficient to full cover my soaking wet hair. It lathers up a treat - a thick, creamy lather that feels gentle and cleansing. This product smells nice enough. It is a simple, clean smell which isn't gender neutral or overpowering at all.
What I find confusing about using 2 in 1 product is that I am used to applying a shampoo, lathering and rinsing then applying the conditioner and waiting for a while before rinsing it off. With a 2 in 1 product, it is a case of lathering and rinsing. I find that the soapy lather rinses well from my hair with very little effort on my part. Once rinsed, my hair feels instantly soft. I normally leave my hair to dry naturally and find that my hair remains soft to the touch and moisturised after using this 2 in 1 product. My hair also feels refreshed and clean and with no irritation to my sensitive scalp. I occasionally suffer from a little dandruff and find that this product is effective enough to reduce but not eliminate the flaky areas on my scalp. A clean, fresh scent is left on my hair and there is no evident residue left on my hair. I have noticed that my coloured hair hasn't suffered any loss of shine from using this shampoo and conditioner.
I do find that this is one of the better 2 in 1 products I have used. I find that the formula leaves my hair feeling good and with a healthy shine. I do find that my hair starts to lose the moisture and become rather dry after 24 hours or so. This isn't too bad but using individual products usually leave my hair feeling a lot of softer and smoother for a few days. My fiance uses this too as it isn't girly like the other hair care products that I buy. He has short, normal hair and finds that this works a treat at leaving his hair soft and clean - what more could a man want?
This is a pleasant shampoo and conditioner to use. It is effective at leaving my hair in really good condition but I personally favour individual products for longer lasting moisture. I would say it is perfect for those with normal to slightly dry hair but those with extra dry hair may wish to use an additional conditioner. I sometimes spray on the Boots leave-in conditioner to lock in a little more moisture. I find that this product represents excellent value for money. Only a little is needed per use and a 400ml bottle will last for ages. It is family friendly and I find it perfect to use alone on days where I am short of time and just want to wash and gently condition my hair.
