... this hair care mousse but I opt for the 'extra firm hold for maximum hold and volume', which smells rather pleasant and looks like whipped cream once you squirt it out or the top of the plastic nozzle at the top of the metal can. Be careful as this can is pressurised so avoid high heats or piercing the can please :) The write up on the back also says its non sticky which is true although you do have to wash you hands thoroughly after using it because of the chemical mixture, plus that it doesn't not hold the hair ...more

Premium Review Boots Styling Mousse: For extra firm mousse volume use this! (386 words)
by - written on 29/08/09 (Very useful, 40 readings)

Like a lot of people I use hair mousse to add extra body to my hair as it is long but can be a bit lifeless as I wash it everyday. The best value mousse I have found is 'Boots essential' range which is only 99p for a 200ml can. Purple in colour this is a tall thin container which has enough frothy mousse once shook up to last me several months. The write up says to shake well and squirt a golf ball sized amount into your hand and then rub through your hair - simple really. This product is designed to protect against heat damage which my hair is as I blow dry then straighten it every day, plus it is easer to change your style ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review BOOTS 'EXTRA FIRM' MOUSSE - A TRUE CLAIM...OR JUST ANOTHER A ... (800 words)

Like most people I tend to use matching hair care products from the same brand range - which is the reason I am writing a review on Boots own 'essentials' styling mousse, as I also use their unperfumed 'maximum hold' hairspray too. This long, slenderish, deep purple metal cylindrical container at around 9" in height (excluding the plastic, opaque pop-on lid), can generally be found very near the hairspray merchandise shelves in most of the Boots stores (when it's in stock, the stronger versions of this mousse can be difficult to get hold of at times). My 'extra firm hold for maximum volume and control' canister costs around the 99p make for the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Boots Styling Mousse: boots own is great (408 words)

Last weekend i eventually got around to perming my hair for the summer so had to go out and buy some mousse to hold my curls in all day and stop them turning to frizz by the end of the day. Wholst looking at the mousses in boots i spotted that they make a mousse of there own, this is available in a range of holds but as i wanted mine to hold all day which is usually a long day i opted for the extra firm hold which comes in a purple metal tin with a spray nozzle on the top which is plastic and a plastic lid. This mouse not only claims to be good for keeping your hair in style like i have brought it for but it also says that it protects from the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Boots salon selectives styling mousse (133 words)

Rating:

I bought the Boots salon selectives styling mouse when it was on a 3 for 2 offer - it was a total waste of money! I bought the firm hold mouse that promised to hold my hair firmly without being sticky, flaky or drying to your hair! funny it did all of these except hold my hair! It's a very watery mousse that just made my hair all lank and floopy. When you first get it out of the container instead of it being all creamy and fluffy its just watery and frothy. I did think prehaps it was this container so I did try the others - they were all the same! The only good thing I can say about it is that it does not contain CFC's!! ...  Read the complete review
