I've always been a consistent buyer of the body shop conditioners, but decided to take a leap into the wide blue yonder and try something a little more expensive. Boot's Tricologoie costs about £5 for 250 ml so it's dearer than most conditioners, but not excessively so. They do both conditioner and shampoos which come in different 'flavours' for different types of hair needs. They store display has a little gizmo with sliders, which asks you various questions like "is your hair regularly coloured" and "what length is your hair". The answers from that tell you which type they recommend. For me and my short undyed hair it was the 'smooth' system that was recommend. It's a nice sky blue conditioner in a smart bottle with a squeeze pump dispenser. It's clear so you can see how much of it you have left. So, I have been using it pretty regularly for the last three weeks - there certainly is an effect, but I am not convinced if there is enough of a change for me to switch over permanently when I finish the bottle. You don't need to use a lot of it on your hair-it has lasted fairly well. I put it on and then leave it for a few minutes before rinsing. Now I can say that my hair feels thicker, smoother and does lie in place easier, but there are other things about it I don't like. When I get out the shower and comb my hair, it feels quite tangled. With other conditioners, this doesn't happen. Also, there is a stickiness and a dryness (must sound a bit contradictory, but I can't explain it any other way) that isn't great. I must say, though, it gets better the longer you use it- or maybe i am just getting used to it. It used to feel really sticky- now it's only a little bit. I am a bit ambivalent about this stuff, I might buy some more and use if occasionally, but I don't see me switching for evermore. I suspect that it really depends on what
condition that your hair is first of all. If you dye and perm your hair, it will probably have good results( although then it probably wouldn't be the 'smooth' one that you were recommended to use) but for others - the results aren't that spectacular.
