Another day, another hairspray! (Bristows Ultra Hold Hairspray)

Advantages: Works rather well and makes hair look healthy and natural

Disadvantages: Smell and you have to be careful not to saturate the hair with it

Looking for a cheaper hairspray at the moment cos I get through so much tying my hair back for the gym and stuff I have been using my Mothers! lol. I usually use rather expensive stuff as I like the good stuff for going out etc but it works out costly on a daily basis and I find I need alot to keep my hair in place! So as I say I want something cheap but still cheerful that works well and my Mum swears by this stuff. So much so she has 3 different types of this and this is the second one I've tried belonging to her lol.

The Packaging....

300ml bright pink long cylinder can with a plastic lid that pulls on and off the top and covers a small White plastic aerosol sprayer. On the front of the can there is a picture of a woman and I'm told all in white writing that it is Bristows 'Ultra Hold' Hairspray 'For Maximum Style And Control'. On the back of the can I'm told a bit about the product and directions for use are given, cautions and ingredients are listed along with contact details for Lornamead (the manufacturer of the product), the size is stated (as I've listed already), the recycle symbol is shown and finally there is a bar-code on there. Cheapish looking can but easy to use the can is and it's informative enough to be fair to it.

A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Can....

Bristows Ultra Hold Hairspray gives maximum style and control.

Leaves no sticky residue.
Brushes out easily.

Directions For Use....

For best results hold the can 20cm from your hair, spraying lightly and evenly, shielding eyes.

Using It....

Well I used this on my finished style to 'set' it of course. It sprays out rather wet and if your not careful it does make hair a bit too wet so you need to spray from a distance and very lightly indeed.

The smell of these products is a bit of a let down in my opinion. It's kind of floral but rather old fashioned and once this is sprayed on the hair the smell lingers on it for a good couple of hours which is a rather bad point of this cos although it isn't vile it really isn't great and/or modern either!

However this does work reasonably well. My hair is really fine and sort of jaw length and for the gym as I stated earlier I need to tie it up and keep it off my face whilst working out. Using this hairspray even in the heat my hair stays in place and with my running in the treadmill and all-sorts it stays put well enough. Fly-aways and broken hairs also stay in style, frizz is kept in place and one thing this does rather well is give my hair a nice healthy sheen and doesn't make it feel weighed down or sticky at all and whats more it does wash out or brush/comb out easily leaving no residue behind.

This is an ok every-day sort of product that gives decent results every time however the smell is a real sticking point for me! I don't like it so I wouldn't buy this no matter how good it is!

Summary: An ok hairspray that is cheap and cheerful enough and works out very economical in the long run
