If you've got thicker hair you may find it more usefulm to use a larger amount of gel or to try one of the stronger holding gels such as 'strong gel' or 'extreme hold' gel but personally I find that these are too strong for my hair type. If I used those then my hair would feel like straw! I have never had any dry skin problems on my head as a result of...more

Premium Review Brylcreem Wet Look Gel: Not so old fashioned (625 words)
by - written on 12/12/07 (Very useful, 218 readings)

There is a time not so long ago where the wearing of such a product would have increased your chances of getting a bit of a dodgy reputation. Thankfully these days are behind us now and with the youth of today demanding so much from hair products it seems to me that Brylcreem have also moved with the times. In today's hustle bustle world a product which is considered trendy or designer is often chosen over the product which is actually better, I guess the advertising men are doing their job pretty good if they can set a generation into choosing the inferior product. I'm not going to get into a slaging match and knock the products which I consider ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brylcreem Wetlook Hairgel (170 words)

Firstly, if you're looking for a hairstyling product to maintain a fixed, solid, complex style, especially with long-ish hair, this isn't the product you should choose. The Brylcreem Wetlook gel is seemingly designed for shorter hair styles where a minor amount of hold and gloss is required. I used this gel when I had short hair, under 2 inches long, where it provided an acceptable hold with a slick, shiny gloss with a minor amount of product applied. One of the advantages of this gel is it's thin nature. It won't add weight to your hair and it's very easy to get out. You can simply rub your hair to shake the flakes of gel out if needed, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brylcreem Wet Look Gel: Works well with short haired brylcreem boys (379 words)
by - written on 08/10/09 (Very useful, 61 readings)

It's time to own up, I'm a brylcreem boy! I have very short hair but when it's dry it goes very fluffy and I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards and that is why I use it! I find the wet look gel the best out of the series for my hair, the 'wet look' does actually work and it looks good as well as keeping my hair in place. I usually only need a small amount, maybe the size a 3 pea's, rub it between my hands and then run my hands through my hair. I usually apply it to slightly damp hair and then wet my hands after just to flatten down any sticky-up bits! If you use too much gel then your hair can become too stiff and you'll end up looking like a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Brylcreem Look (624 words)

**Introduction** I am ashamed to say that my hair is naturally curly. It is something that I am always trying to hide with various hair products but I don't like having my haircut too short as I like to have a bit to style with. That's where Brylcreem Wet Look Gel comes in handy. I have been styling my hair for about the last 10 or 11 of my 24 years on this earth and have mainly used Brylcreem in some form aswell as gels from the likes of Wella, Garnier and the really bad Lynx Gel (yes they made a bad product). Whilst I have used most of the products in the Brylcreem range I have mostly used this one over the last few years as I am very pleased with the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Brylcreem Wet Look Gel: A Little Dab’ll Do Ya (572 words)
by - written on 30/05/02 (Very useful, 1117 readings)

Gel has always been something that has a place in my medicine cabinet and is something that I have been using for at least five years. I have used many different brands over these years like Shock Waves and many others. At present the one that I am using is Brylcreem’s Wet-Look Gel. The primary reason for my purchasing this was price. This was the cheapest one that I could find at Boots and considering that it was a brand that I am well aware of and one that is well known, it was really not a difficult choice in picking it up. Brylcreem are relatively new in the field of Gels. Brylcreem is rather better known as a hair ...  Read the complete review
