I have spiked up short hair and have bought a lot of gels but this does really strong, it will hold your hair into place.
Its strong and last all day , it washes out really easily , the only problem for myself being a blonde guy is that it does make your hair look darker than it is , so I have switched to the wax , plus I have tried a few other hair care products which I will give my view on some other day .
The gel goes off really fast and you do not need a lot of it to get your desired look a pea sized drop should be ample enough to get your hair held in place , if you go to the gym regular or work out it really does not affect your hair when your pouring with sweat , stays in control and doesn't just collapse your hair , I bought this on special offer at £3.09p (150 Ml ) so was well pleased with it , plus you only need a pea sized drop and it smells pretty good too .
The price is very reasonable as well . There are a few well known retail stores that usually have discounts on there end caps ( end of isle ) so just keep a watch out shop around a little see what deals are on at the time . It has a nicely designed tube which catches your eye when browsing so should stand out .
Although it won't make you look like Mr B well in my case it doesn't
I usually use gels on my hair in the morning after a shower and after I have washed my hair and in the evening too, as I have short hair and I like to have a good cut and I always like to take pride in my appearance, especially my hair and my hair is very thick and I always want to keep it in good condition and although I am not vain at all, I do like to look as nice as I possibly can and look presentable and I have used and tried tons of gels and wax products and even putty as I find my hair sits much better and I also feel better too.
I had not tried this one before and so I thought when I saw it from Boots for only just £3.59 I thought I would give it a try as the amount was a good one of 150ml and a lot for the price and also for a very well known brand.
It comes in a plastic tube, with a flip lid and inside it is a very thick gel, it smells nice and fresh with a very good fragrance, a masculine one for my hair and all that is needed is a small amount on my finger tips and to work it into my hair and place in the position I want and it is not sticky when on the hair, it does have the wet look that it says on the tube and it does have such a nice sheen to it and shine for my liking, it does hold the hair very well indeed and it is extremely good on windy days as I have found that some other brands tend to loose the hold when in bad weather but this one is very good.
The one I bought has a different design to the one advertised above, mine is a black plastic tube with some blue on the front with a red top and it looks very attractive in my bathroom.
I have found this one also conditions my hair at the same time as giving a strong hold, and I apply it to my hair once I have towel dried it and it is damp enough to place the gel onto the hair and then I just leave it and the product does the rest and dries quite quickly and I am very pleased with how this one has had such a good hold and it has a pleasant smell too.
I would definitely recommend this one as I think the quality is super and very good value for the money and the texture of the gel is nice and soft and very smooth and not tacky, it is also very easy to wash out at the end of the day and it has left my hair in very good condition.
I rate this one 5 stars.
This is a great gel its stong and flexible but also looks great in your hair.
Bryl is a great make it has been around for years but still produces some fantastic products. They produce a range of different gels and waxes in both dry and wet looks. Personally i like the wet look gel because it does not dry out my hair as much and it also washes out more easily. The dry gel is better if you want to have your hair spikey without it looking like you have anything in your hair.
The packaging is also great it comes in a squeezable tube like the one in the picture above which makes it easy to apply without it going everywhere. It looks fairly up market as well it has a sleek shing blue look with a good amountof information on it about how to apply and rinse out.
Overall, its a great product and i highly recommend trying it, when i last bought it it was £3.99 in my nearest supermarket. Great product!
I've been using this wet look version of the gel for over ten years now. In my opinion its the best out there, and i see no reason to stray away.
My hair isn't the best, its a bit frizzy and doesn't fall the way i want it to! Its fairly short but still needs to be styled so i use brylcreem wet look gel most days.
The bottle itself looks great, easy to use, no messy stuff around the cap once you've used it and its fairly cheap as well (keep a lookout in places likde superdrug as they sometimes have good offers on them). The main thing to understand is that while its called 'wet look' it doesn't make you look like one of the T-birds out of Grease! Its actually a kind of softer version of the strong gel, and therefore allows you to style your hair without making it look like cement! Its easy to apply in your hair and only a little is needed to give you hair a good style. If you have a partciular difficult strand which insists on staying up, then applying a bit more volume should tame it.
This is the best gel i've used, i've tried cheaper ones and different brands, but its this one i keep coming back to.
I am ashamed to say that my hair is naturally curly. It is something that I am always trying to hide with various hair products but I don't like having my haircut too short as I like to have a bit to style with. That's where Brylcreem Wet Look Gel comes in handy. I have been styling my hair for about the last 10 or 11 of my 24 years on this earth and have mainly used Brylcreem in some form aswell as gels from the likes of Wella, Garnier and the really bad Lynx Gel (yes they made a bad product). Whilst I have used most of the products in the Brylcreem range I have mostly used this one over the last few years as I am very pleased with the results from this gel in particular.
Once you open the cap on the tube of gel you will get that lovely smell of the Brylcreem Gel, It's a lovely blue colour and it ooozes out of the tube easily for you to use as you choose. One of the great things about this gel is that you really don't need that much of it on your hair for it to produce good results. Like most gels it is best to apply this gel after you have washed your hair and it is preferable that your hair is towel dried for the best results. Once you have applied the gel it is really easy to style your hair into your chosen style or look.
My most common style when I use gel is to spike it up a little and have a stripe that goes down the middle of my hair. That said I do like to experiment with other styles and have sometimes used the gel as more of a wet look style with a straightforward spiked downward style. For the more styled look you might need a little more gel to get the best results but even then you would not need as much as a lot of other gels on the market. Use your fingers to create the style you are looking for and apply more if and when it's needed.
The main problem reported with a lot of cheaper gels is that the hold does not last as long as the slightly more expensive gels. You can purchase this particular gel for around £2 and this gel gives a better hold than it's relatively cheap price would have you think. It's widely used in hairdressers even with other more expensive gels available. With Brylcreem Wet Look Gel your style will last well in some tough environments like a hot and sweaty club. The best style that will last is the raised spikey look which should still be looking alright when you are back home after a good night out, Of course this will vary as some people's hair is better suited to hair products like this than other people.
I am very impressed with this gel and I am not the only one as it has won countless awards in the sector and has been advertised in just about every men's magazine going in the United Kingdom like FHM, Nuts, Loaded, Front etc etc. If you are looking for a new gel then try this one and you won't regret it. An upmarket hair gel for not much more than cheap and nasty hair gel. There are several offers on like buy one get one free and 3 for 2's so get them in a bundle with something else. It's the best smelling hair gel I have ever smelt.
A great styling product, brylcreem is great its not like it was. You will not get yourself in a pickle saying you use Brylcreem. Its a super product. Gel is a daily product for me and I want one that gives you that lasting hold.
Well this gel stands out for me. One because its much cheaper than some of the 'Rip-Off' brands. But it is not lacking it provides the hold that you need throught the day. From day to day. They say it provides a water resistant hold, this it does. But if you live in the UK, you will sometimes be battered by heavy rain. This the gel is not so good in! This gel don't take ages to dry, it will dry in about 5 mins and give you a sturdy hold from then. You don't get any flakes in your hair and its easy to wash out.
How it comes?
Well you get it in a smooth squeezy bottle. This is water proof so its handy for the bathroom. It sits top down so you never have to wait for it to pour out the bottle. Covered in the Brylcreem, has a safe and secure easy to open cap.
What's In It?
Aqua, Alcohol Denat, Acrylates/C1-2 Succinates/Hydroxyacrylates Copolymer, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Sorbitol, Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer, Triethanolamine, PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, Panthenol, Parfum, Diazolidinyl Urea Polyether 1, Sodium Methylparaben, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Polyacrylate, Sodium Propylparaben, Iodopropynyl Butyl Carbamate, CI 42051
Well, this don't mean alot to me. But you may have a allergy to one of them!
How to use it?
Well I add a small dab to my fingertips, add it to my hair and style in my spikes!
But Brylcreem say this: For best results apply to damp hair, always apply from your crown forwards.
A great product, a long lasting hold water resistant. Cheaper to the others in the crowd and works well!

Firstly, if you're looking for a hairstyling product to maintain a fixed, solid, complex style, especially with long-ish hair, this isn't the product you should choose.
The Brylcreem Wetlook gel is seemingly designed for shorter hair styles where a minor amount of hold and gloss is required.
I used this gel when I had short hair, under 2 inches long, where it provided an acceptable hold with a slick, shiny gloss with a minor amount of product applied.
One of the advantages of this gel is it's thin nature. It won't add weight to your hair and it's very easy to get out. You can simply rub your hair to shake the flakes of gel out if needed, or rinse out in a matter of seconds.
I recommend this for shorter styles where a quickly applicable, light hairstyling product is required, although if you're looking for the more extreme style I'd point you in the direction of one of the stronger Brylcreem products.
There is a time not so long ago where the wearing of such a product would have increased your chances of getting a bit of a dodgy reputation. Thankfully these days are behind us now and with the youth of today demanding so much from hair products it seems to me that Brylcreem have also moved with the times. In today's hustle bustle world a product which is considered trendy or designer is often chosen over the product which is actually better, I guess the advertising men are doing their job pretty good if they can set a generation into choosing the inferior product.
I'm not going to get into a slaging match and knock the products which I consider inferior suffice to say I'm hitting on the side of the product which I believe to be superior. Years ago when I decided, or rather she who must be obeyed decided that a haircut or re-styling was in order for yours truly, there was a need for a product which would help me maintain that new fresh look. My hair used to be quite long and I normally just let it do it's own thing, but after the new image appeared I needed something which would for want of a better word fluff up my now lacking crop.
Brylcreem was not the first product I tried, but the failure of others to maintain those little spikes of hair meant a new search was on and this is where Brylcreem came to the rescue. I had once again found what I considered a bargain, in a good old pound shop. My hair was now quite short, but the way a friend at work had cut and styled it meant it needed a little assistance in keeping it's new look. I didn't need a lot since it was mainly just the front that required that little more attention.
The opaque blue gel that was housed in a rather ordinary plastic tub, was the answer to my prayers. The labelling on the tub was none too impressive either being quite boring, a silver half inch ring around the tub with the word Brylcreem in red centred on it. The tub contains 125ml of the product, which is scented with a fresh clean smell, almost like an aftershave, but slightly cleaner and sharper. Unlike other similar hair gels Brylcreem is not as sticky and feels if anything a bit greasy to touch. Not a lot is needed for it to perform more than adequately, in fact the use of too much will simply give the appearance that you have slapped a load on your bonce and not given much thought to it. Once applied you can style your hair until it is in the position you require. It then takes perhaps 20 - 30 mins for the gel to almost dry, it always kind of feels wet although it is actually quite dry. I was using it to project a few strands of hair in the fringe area and found that once applied Brylcreem held the little spikes in place all day with ease. I could flick my hair and it would just bounce back into place.
I still use Brylcreem to this day, but now it's purpose is to keep my hair flatter, in order that the increasing bald area is disguised as much as possible, the price of getting old. Brylcreem for me is an absolutely brilliant product and I have on occasion seem my son steal a little for his rather more fuller head of hair. He seems to approve, but he is as I mentioned at the beginning, one of the designer type people who buy names instead of quality.
Gel has always been something that has a place in my medicine cabinet and is something that I have been using for at least five years. I have used many different brands over these years like Shock Waves and many others. At present the one that I am using is Brylcreem’s Wet-Look Gel. The primary reason for my purchasing this was price. This was the cheapest one that I could find at Boots and considering that it was a brand that I am well aware of and one that is well known, it was really not a difficult choice in picking it up. Brylcreem are relatively new in the field of Gels. Brylcreem is rather better known as a hair cream/groom, which has been around for ages. It comes in the standard plastic tubes that contain 150ml of content and has a wide mouth cover that allows it to stand. It's in a opaque colour, which allows you to see the contents slightly and this makes it easier to see know when it's running low. My main purpose of using Gel is naturally to be able to manage my hair more easily. I have hair that never seems to sit in one place, unless I’ve just had one my crew-cut type of haircuts. This is evidently more so just after shampooing and after the hair has dried. I usually rub it in, comb my hair into place and let it sit for around 10 minutes. I then comb my hair again and this leaves the hair in perfect shape and without all those lose strands flaying around. On many occasions when I want to take advantage of the Wet-Look feature I apply it while my hair is almost dry. Many people prefer to apply it when the hair is still quite wet i.e. just after toweling. I feel that applying it when the hair is almost dry gives you much more maneuverability it setting the style that you need, as your hair would have gained much more character being almost dry. The quality is in line with other brands that I have used and it certainly provides that Wet-Look to satisfac
tory effect. You also only need a little to provide the desired effect and thus the tube lasts for a considerable length of time. Brylcreem contains Panthanol, which is an ingredient that helps maintain a healthy scalp and so if you use it regularly this is an added advantage. As mentioned earlier I went for Brylcreem because of the price. The 150ml tube goes for just £2.90 and this was considerably cheaper than the other brands on offer. Overall I have found Brylcreem Wet-Look Gel to be and excellent acquisition and one that matches all the other competitive brands in all departments. For those of you who use Gel on a regular basis, why don’t you give this one a try. I’m quite confident that you will not be disappointed. PS. The heading of this opinion “A Little Dab’ll Do Ya” is infact the lead advertising slogan for the original Brylcreem in the USA and other countries. TV Guide in the USA voted it as the one of the Top 10 catchiest ad-lines for 1999.
