Advantages: Good results, Cheaper than other brands with equivalent products, Well known brand
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
Gel has always been something that has a place in my medicine cabinet and is something that I have been using for at least five years. I have used many different brands over these years like Shock Waves and many others. At present the one that I am using is Brylcreem’s Wet-Look Gel. The primary reason for my purchasing this was price. This was the cheapest one that I could find at Boots and considering that it was a brand that I am well aware of and one that is well known, it was really not a difficult choice in picking it up. Brylcreem are relatively new in the field of Gels. Brylcreem is rather better known as a hair cream/groom, which has been around for ages. It comes in the standard plastic tubes that contain 150ml of content and has a wide mouth cover that allows it to stand. It's in a opaque colour, which allows you to see the contents slightly and this makes it easier to see know when it's running low. My main purpose of using Gel is naturally to be able to manage my hair more easily. I have hair that never seems to sit in one place, unless I’ve just had one my crew-cut type of haircuts. This is evidently more so just after shampooing and after the hair has dried. I usually rub it in, comb my hair into place and let it sit for around 10 minutes. I then comb my hair again and this leaves the hair in perfect shape and without all those lose strands flaying around. On many occasions when I want to take advantage of the Wet-Look feature I apply it while my hair is almost dry. Many people prefer to apply it when the hair is still quite wet i.e. just after toweling. I feel that applying it when the hair is almost dry gives you much more maneuverability it setting the style that you need, as your hair would have gained much more character being almost dry. The quality is in line with other brands that I have used and it certainly provides that Wet-Look to satisfac
tory effect. You also only need a little to provide the desired effect and thus the tube lasts for a considerable length of time. Brylcreem contains Panthanol, which is an ingredient that helps maintain a healthy scalp and so if you use it regularly this is an added advantage. As mentioned earlier I went for Brylcreem because of the price. The 150ml tube goes for just £2.90 and this was considerably cheaper than the other brands on offer. Overall I have found Brylcreem Wet-Look Gel to be and excellent acquisition and one that matches all the other competitive brands in all departments. For those of you who use Gel on a regular basis, why don’t you give this one a try. I’m quite confident that you will not be disappointed. PS. The heading of this opinion “A Little Dab’ll Do Ya” is infact the lead advertising slogan for the original Brylcreem in the USA and other countries. TV Guide in the USA voted it as the one of the Top 10 catchiest ad-lines for 1999.
