This product from the well known brand Brylcreen is described on the packaging as 'Next Generation'. It claims that next generation gels are better because they are-

long lasting
faster drying
easy to apply and wash out
non flaky

Right, I will tackle each of these claims one at a time.

Is it long lasting?

Yes it is, having applied the product at around 8 in the morning it was still effective at 10.30 in the evening. Even if exposed to rain, the gel keeps its structure. So far so good.

Is it faster drying?

Again yes it seems to dry faster than other similar brands of hair gel, and is dry to the touch in a couple of minutes, depenting on how much of the product you choose to apply.

Is it easy to apply and wash out?

This product comes is a squeezy tube which is an innovation that many producers of similar products seem to be picking up on. Much easier to judge an amount out of a tube than having to scoop it out of a pot. When it comes to washing, I found that there is no noticable difference from washing my hair without the product in, other gels sometimes return to a gel form when exposed to warm water but this product does not do that.

Is it non-flaky?

In the past the problem with many gels was the formation of flakes where a globule of gel had settled and there was the problem of being afraid to touch your hair all day incase you released an avalanche of flaky bits. This Brylcreem gel seemed to stop this and I even once managed to wear a wooly hat with out causing flaky bits to form, although the structure of the hair was somewhat damaged by this!!!

The product gives good hold and does not give a greasy look like some other gels and doesn't make the hair feel stiff.

Summary: A good product that I would recommed to potential users.
