I first used this when my hairdresser used it on me and then recommended that I use it regularly to curb the frizz in my hair. My initial experience after having this applied by my hairdresser was good and so I bought this bottle from Amazon for £16.75 - which I appreciate is very expensive and is considerable more than I would usually even consider spending. However, as I had had such positive results when I used this at my hairdressers I really wanted to try it out over a longer term. I would estimate that I used about 20 mls per application (I have long hair) which meant that each application cost around £1.34 (pricey!).
Using this conditioner is the same as using any leave in conditioner. Once I have washed my hair, I towel dry it and then I pour a little of the conditioner into my hands and gradually work the conditioner through my hair from root to tip, trying to ensure that my whole head is equally covered. The application process is easy, but I have to say that it would be considerably easier if their was a spray nozzle so that dispersion was finer and coverage more equal. I have found that using too much of the conditioner leaves my hair a little greasy so I completely believe that this is a case of "less is more".
When I have used the conditioner it leaves my hair in really good condition (ha, forgive the pun!). My hair feels soft and silky and, most importantly, all of the frizz from my hair has gone. It also keeps my hair detangled which, as I have long hair, is no easy feat. If I've used this conditioner, I can get a brush through my hair without having to go into battle (!) for about 4 days afterwards. It also leaves my hair feeling clean and fresh but not perfumed.
Importantly, having used this, unlike other leave-in shampoos I have used, my hair does not feel like its covered in residue. However, I have found that if I use too much then my hair does become greasy and lank and all I want to do is wash it off as soon as possible and start again. Equally, I have found that if I use this with every hair wash then my hair becomes greasy - and so I recommend using this no more than once a week.
Overall, I like this conditioner, but it is too expensive and I do find it hard for this cost to be justified. The effects on my hair is good but the effect on my pocket is not really good at all.
One type of haircare product I have taken a liking to is the use of a leave in conditioner on a regular basis. I use it more for convenience than anything, as i can grab a shower, wash my hair, then whilst im shaving I simply apply a small amount to my fingertips and work it through my short hair. For around £14 you would be forgiven for expecting a spray action bottle, but not with the Bumble & Bumble leave in conditioner. The 250ml container has a white body with Bb branding on it. The bottle isn't too plain but it has a simple finish to it.
The leave in conditioner acts as a moisturiser for your hair, and as you leave it in after application it also protects your locks from flyaways. As I have short hair this isn't an issue, but it helps Bumble & Bumble to justify their pricing. The product can be used in such a variety of ways, as you can also use it as a conventional conditioner in the shower. The directions on the product suggests you apply the conditioner to wet hair, comb or use your fingers to work it through your hair, then rinse out. The other suggestions are also encouraged from Bumble & Bumble.
The conditioner leaves my hair feeling tamed and very healthy. As it detangles my hair it is great for in the morning and would be an even bigger help for those with longer hair than mine. I can definitely recommend it to those with long hair looking for a versatile haircare product that has quite a neutral scent.
This leave in conditioner is such a versatile product, as it can be used in such a variety of ways. You could say you are paying the money for the brand, but I strongly disagree with this suggestion alone - the product is far superior to most rivals' products. I will certainly be continuing my use of this product, and am now further searching for other Bumble & Bumble products which I haven't yet tried.
Possibly Bumble and Bumble's most versatile product. Keep it in your shower as a rinse out detangler, or leave it in hair as a styling aid to moisturise, tame frizz and soften without weighing hair down. To be used daily; after washing or during styling. To Use: Comb or work through clean, wet hair and rinse thoroughly. Or, work a dab through hands, fingers and hair and style. Stop there for a natural look or give it more structure or texture.
