As you may know from my previous reviews I have very fine hair and have to wash it every day which is a real pain. I am always trying to find products that will thicken my hair and when my hairdressers started using Bumble and Bumble products in their salon I was impressed with how this shampoo left my hair and therefore bought some to try at home.
Bumble and Bumble was first founded in New York in the 1970s and has since grown into a major hair care retailer. Boots have recently at stared selling their products in their stores and they can also be bought online from a range of retailers such as Amazon.
The thickening shampoo comes in a clear plastic bottle with a black lid on it. You can see the product through the bottle and it almost looks like a gel with s light hint of blue colour to it.
On opening the bottle the first thing that hits you is the smell - it really is gorgeous. It reminds me of bluebells or fresh cut flowers and is really refreshing but not too sweet.
To use the shampoo I first wet my hair and then lather the shampoo directly onto my head. As it is a natural product it does not lather up as much as shampoos that contain lots of chemical but I do find that I get enough lather from it to feel that it is really cleaning my hair. It is easy to rinse out and after I have rinsed my hair it does not feel sticky or harsh at all.
On drying my hair I can definitely tell that this shampoo does add some volume and thickness. It is not enough to be the miracle product that I am always looking for but it del help give my hair some extra body. it also leaves my hair feeling soft and gentle and smelling great which i love.
Overall I would recommend this shampoo and I really enjoy using it. However it is expensive at £18.50 for 250ml so is probably not a shampoo you can afford to use every day.
For any of you out there that have stupidly fine hair that refuses to do anything - you will know where I am coming from.
My hair is very very fine and no matter what I use or how I have it cut, it still ends up looking limp and gets greasy very quickly - or should I say shows the grease very easily!
I have tried a lot of products that claim body and volume and lift for my fine locks but never tried Bumble and Bumble - simply because of the price.
I was introduced to this shampoo at the hairdressers. It comes in two sizes - small 50ml for travel (or trial use) and 250ml full time use bottle. It is clear, the usual shampoo texture and smells really fresh with just a hint of sweet. You only need to use a small amount, about a 10p piece size for medium hair, this is because the shampoo is very concentrated. It doesn't lather up quiet as much as some other shampoos I find but a little research has explained that that is due to less chemicals in the shampoo so is actually a good sign that your not putting as much rubbish into your hair and weighing it down. The shampoo washed out very easily indeed and didn't leave my hair in a tangled mess as some have done.
The results were great. My hair felt very clean (again due to less chemicals than my normal shampoo) and it also had a good shine to it and good volume. Continued use has given even better results, as well as the added volume, my hair is now lasting for two days instead of having to wash it every day which is a massive bonus.
It is expensive though. The trial size bottle was £5 and the full sized 250ml bottle is about £17. Personally I feel that it is worth it, not only am I washing my hair less, saving time and shampoo but my hair is a little more manageable with a decent bit of volume. The product also lasts really well. If you fancy giving it a go my advice would be to but one of the travel sizes, only costs £5 and means you can see if it works for you. I bought the travel size first to try and it lasted me for 4 weeks (I have medium length hair).
