      Too much moisture

I have used quit a fair few products from the Burt’s Bees range over the years. Some of them I have been really pleased with but others, less so. I bought this Burt’s Bees Moisture Shampoo from Amazon at some point last year. It usually retails at £9.99 for a ten ounce bottle but there was £2 off at the time and also I had vouchers I could use. My hair has dry ends and greasy roots but this promised to make sure the ends got the moisture but not the roots! It sounded perfect so I gave it a go.

The shampoo itself is medium thickness and has quite a pleasant smell though after a while it starts to remind me of a chemical which we used to use at school in our chemistry lesson. It does not agree with my hair at all, however, in fact my hair hates this shampoo with a passion.

It lathers up quickly and it seems to rinse off easily but afterwards my hair is left feeling very greasy and heavy is the only word I think to best describe it. There is no bounce, no shine, no volume, just a general lank looking mop on my head.

The ingredients, if anyone is interested, are:

Aqua (water, eau), sodium bis-hydroxyethylglycinate coco-glucosides crosspolymer, sodium cocoyl alaninate, glycerin, disodium cocoyl glutamate, sodium lauroyl lactylate, oryza sativa (rice) extract, adansonia digitata oil, theobroma grandiflorum seed butter, origanum vulgare leaf oil, thymus vulgaris (thyme) oil, hydrolyzed jojoba protein, arginine, sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed soy protein, sodium polyaspartate, parfum (fragrance), xanthan gum, sodium cocoyl glutamate, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, lauryl lactyl lactate, sodium chloride, lactic acid, leuconostoc ferment filtrate, ascorbic acid, citric acid, potassium sorbate.

The active ingredient in this shampoo is said to be Baoba Oil and this is magically supposed to add both shine and moisture to my hair. I can categorically state that it added neither to mine. MY hair looked awful and felt terrible. It was hard to style and I generally just felt like I could nothing with it.

I ended up telling my hubby to use it as I was loathe to throw it away. He did end up finishing the bottle and his remark was “it’s okay”.

Not a product I can possibly recommend.
