Advantages: Works well & smells good, leaves hair feeling clean & soft

Disadvantages: A little pricey.

I am VERY fussy about the shampoo I use! The wrong one makes me itch... and itch... and itch a bit more. Yuck. And those few that don't make me itch - like your specialised anti-dandruff shampoos - do horrible things to my hair. Burts Bees Super Shiny has been my shampoo of choice for a few months now, mostly because of a lack of itching after use! But if you want to know more about the product than "It doesn't make Astavar so itchy she scratches her head in her sleep and wakes up with blood under her nails", then read on.

Purchase
Yes, it's more expensive than most supermarket shampoos. I long ago reconciled myself to spending lots of money on shampoo. I've come to terms with that fact. It's less expensive than some I've tried, and that's good enough for me.

Packaging
Pretty much the same as the packaging for the conditioner - nothing fancy, label has everything you need to know, bottle is a size & shape that's easy to handle and the dispenser opening in the lid works like it should. For preference I really like having a pump-top on my shampoo bottles, but this little pop-up lid works well. I'd say it's a little bit too much like the conditioner - fortunately the plastic is see-through enough that you can easily tell the colour of the contents.

Product
A clear shampoo with an appropriately shampoo-like texture. Not too runny, not too thick, a small amount foams up well in your hair. Easy to distribute - massage in with your fingertips & pretend someone cute is washing your hair for you at a fancy salon - and washes out cleanly. Has a very light, slightly chemical scent that doesn't linger long in your hair... which I appreciate. I smell good enough already.

The Result
This is the important bit! I use this with the Super Shiny Conditioner (I like my shampoo & conditioner to match. Don't ask me why. I don't have to have a reason), and the result is smooth-and-shiny hair that doesn't turn out frizzy or flyaway or limp or greasy. Love it, love it, love it. Oh, yes I do. Even if I have to buy less chocolate to be able to pay for my shampoo, it's worth it.

Summary: Good stuff. If you're considering it, it's worth a go.

I paid £10.99 for a 350mL bottle (including postage) from Ecohamster (they have an Amazon storefront).
