Advantages: great shampoo
Disadvantages: small bottle
Wow! I know that is supposed to be the Herbal Essences feeling but after trying Clairol's daily defense shampoo, that was my exact reaction! Daily defense is a range of products, tailored to your specific hair type, that pledges to combat the stress that we put our hair though each day - namely pollution, sun and hard water. The shampoo contains pro-vitamin B5 and also vitamin E which acts an an anti oxidant. It also has a 'chelating' ingredient which prevents the minerals in hard water from dulling your hair. Now, quite how all of this wizardry works I haven't a clue, but rest assured it does! I have dry hair which has a tendency to frizz so a new shampoo has a tendency to bring me out in a brief spell of mop-head. Hence, I couldn't believe how well my hair took to this product! The shampoo is a clear gel which smells of 'clean'. Yes you did read that right! Clean is the only way I can find to describe the fragrance, but it is a nice outdoor, summery, washing on the line clean as opposed to a medicated clinical clean! The product lathers well and leaves your hair feeling shniy and smooth. The bottle is truly a brilliant design as not only is it clear, so you can see how much is left, but the lid lifts about 1/4 cm to expose a hole from which the product is dispensed. This is perfect for the shower and is also handy for travelling. The final test I put this shampoo through was the 'drive to work with wet hair and the car window open and see what it looks like when I get there' test and incredibly Clairol's daily Defense passed with flying colours. Rather than walking into work as the frizz monster (which I fully expected) I arrived a little wavy but shiny and clean! (I also used the Daily defense 4 conditioner) ~~~ Update ~~~ Clairol have just reduced the bottle size from 300ml to 200ml. They have reduced the price in accordance but the new bottles now seem a little small. They are
on buy one get one free in Safeway at the moment but I'm not overly happy with the new size...:(
