Advantages: Smells great and does what it says on the label (to a point)
Disadvantages: Still a fair amount of frizz going on
I recently purchased Charles Worthington Dream Hair from boots for £5.49 for a 275ml bottle.
I am not normally a big spender on products but it appealed to me as it had recommended by a friend.
My Hair: Long brown hair which is wild unmanegable frizzy and dry
The product: Moisturising Shampoo which claims ''It smoothes frizz and restores manageability for a vibrant, silky smooth finish''.
The look: The bottle is particulary pretty. ( well it looked great on my bathroom shelf!!) The bottle is plastic so no risk of smashing it when I invariably drop it whilst trying to shower. And it has a pretty golden/silvery pattern across the front so you imagine that with it looking that good it must work!!
The results: I applied a small dollop of shampoo to my hair, and I was pleased with the smell first of all. Always a bonus!! I know this will sound strange but it smelt expensive...or maybe it was just that I kept thinking I had spent £2.50 more than I normally would when I was using it!!
But it had a lovely refreshing smell and it lathered really well.
However when I washed it out I found that my hair felt slightly straw like. I was unsure if it was because it was wet, so decided to apply a second lot and this time it felt a lot better. Almost silk like.
It was easy to rinse through the shampoo which is often a problem with cheaper shampoos in so much that you are rinsing forever!!
After drying: Normally I wouldn't dry my hair with a hairdryer even though its long. I tend to bung it up in a pony tail and then sleep on it (naughty I know!!) So I dried my hair with no styling products whatsover.
I have to say my hair looked lush!! Well not quite Salon lush but it definatly was an improvement on my normal shampoo.
My hair is very damaged through years of bad colouring, perms the whole works so I had high hopes that this shampoo would smooth the frizz and flyaway mane that I have to deal with!!
I have to say my hair did feel shiny and silky smooth, and was less flyaway than usual, but I still had a slight frizz going on.
This meant that I then had to apply the normal serum that I do to tame it.
Overall: This is a nice product as a treat but I cant say that I would use it on a regular basis.
Summary: Nice as a treat or a one off
