Advantages: lasts for ages, only need to use a little, very nourishing

Disadvantages: doesn't last long enough!

When I was wandering around Boots recently, looking for some new shampoo and conditioner, I stumbled upon the Charles Worthington Results range with 3 for 2 offers on them. I decided to buy them as I hadn't really tried them and my friend cannot live without the serum and raves about the whole range, so I bought the Moisture Seal Glossing shampoo and the Superconditioner for dry, permed or damaged hair, which I will be reviewing shortly. I also bought this intensive leave-in conditioner which I will review now.

I am usually adverse to leave-in conditioners as they tend to make my hair greasy, but as this one was effectively free and my hair has been suffering as late from too much colouring, I thought I should try it.

The packaging is pretty uninspiring with it just being the same colour as the liquid / cream within, in this case a pale yellow. It comes in a 200ml bottle with a flip top lid (that can open and send its contents everywhere if you are not careful) but it also comes in smaller, cheaper take-aways form. The blurb on the back claims to volumise hair, add shine, prevent static, improve hair and scalp strength, protect hair from heat and styling damage, protect hair from environmental damage, boost hair's moisture retention, prevent chlorine damage and restore pH balance. A lot of claims which I wasn't sure it could live up to.

I first washed and conditioned my hair with the other Charles Worthington products and then got out the intensive conditioner. The directions said to use it sparingly as it is highly concentrated. 'Apply a small amount of the product to towel dry hair using fingertips and then comb through.' You must not rinse it out.

I squeezed out a small, pea-sized blob and applyed it to my hair. It smelt quite citrusy and a little artifical, like many other hair products, although it wasn't unpleasent. I applied it as directed and then blowdryed my hair. I never use addi
tional products appart from sometimes a styling spray to protect my hair when I dry it, as I hate the feeling of my hair feeling weighed down. This is the reason I usually don't use intensive conditioners, but this one left me extremly inpressed. After drying, my hair felt really silky and glossy, without feeling greasy and weighed down. It moved freely and looked in much better condition than before, especially towards the tips of my hair.

I would recommend this to those who colour their hair or have very dry hair as it restores some of the moisture lost and in my opinion, performs a small miricle! I would however, suggest that you use only a TINY amount and distribute it mostly around the ends of the hair, rather than at the roots as this can weigh the hair down and make it look land and sometimes greasy.
