I was brought up on avon products as my mum was a rep.now I'm a mum and have done avon a few times.I love the way this spray makes your hair smell and feel like it has just been washed.it is none greasy and won't dry sticky. My daughter loves the smell and is always using it.I would recommend this product
My hair tends to be quite on the dry side and a little unruly so although to gain the style I want it is better to wash my hair daily I try not to as it dries it out too much. I have tried dry shampoo and find it pretty good at making my hair feel cleaner the day after washing so when I saw the Avon Daily Hair Refresher in a Cherry fragrance I was intrigued and decided to order a bottle. I purchased this from my mums local Avon representative where at the time it was on a special offer at just £1.50 for a 150ml bottle. The hair refresher comes packaged in a slightly frosted plastic bottle which still allows you to see how much of the pink liquid is left inside. It is a pump action style bottle which has a clear plastic cap to cove the pump to prevent it bring pressed when not in use. The bottle has two stick on labels, the front one states the name and fragrance as well as having a picture of some cherry blossom while the back label contains more detailed product information in different languages. The back label details ingredients listings and instructions for use. The usage instructions state for you to hold the bottle 8-10 inches (20-25cm) from your hair and to spray evenly and style as usual. I always straighten my hair even on the day after washing as it seems to go a little crazy overnight and leave me with a wild look which I would not want to be seen out and about with. I followed the usage instructions for the hair refresher as stated above making sure I only used a small amount as didn't want to soak my hair through and cause singeing with my straighteners. I did notice straight away that the fragrance was lovely with it being fruity and quite sweet. I then straightened my hair as normal and found that it did seem to style a little easier and kinks smoothed out better leaving my hair looking quite glossy but not at all greasy. Overall I have been quite impressed with this hair refresher, it made my hair feel cleaner and smelling lovely as I am always worried that the day after washing my hair will have picked up bad smells. A little also goes a long way as you only need a few light sprays to coat your hair so it is also great value especially if on special offer. It also saves me lots of time as I only have to wash my hair every other day. I would certainly recommend this product and will be purchasing it again in the future.
I ended up with this product by chance when I was one item short to collect an avon promotion. I often use dry shampoo so thought I'd give it a try, seeing as it would be a freebie, more or less. The bottle is slim and transparent, with the pale pink liquid spray visible through. It looks quite nice on the dressing table. My pet hate with sprays is when they spray too little, or run down the side but this wasn't the case here as it dispensed nicely. Personally I find the fragrance a little too sweet for my liking, it's almost more like a fabric refresher or a room spray (although I'm reluctant to use it as this in case it leaves a residue) With regards to its purpose, I was intrigued to see what effect it would have on my hair. That is, would it be useful for between washes or for a freshen up as a dry shampoo would? Or would it leave my hair greasy and weigh it down? I'm afraid to say that it did leave my hair somewhat greasy, even when following instructions and trying different ways to apply. I sometimes use dry shampoo if I'm putting my hair up, but it definitely isn't a replacement for that. The only use I could suggest is for someone who either smokes or works in a restaurant; as I guess these situations can leave your hair smelling stale. But as a freshen up, I'll be sticking to my dry shampoo or washing and passing this on to a friend. Disappointing but at least it was a freebie!
I am a big fan of dry shampoos for those days where I haven't got the time or the inclination to wash my hair. Besides washing it too often can be damaging so I do like to leave it a day or so in between. My hair can sometimes be a bit greasy where I need something to degrease it between washes but other times it looks fine and I can get away with a spritz or two of perfume in it instead. I bought this out of my neighbours Avon book as I liked the sound of it and it wasn't too expensive to buy. It was £2.50 for a 150ml bottle. The idea behind this is that it is supposed to refresh your hair without the need for washing it and make it smell clean and fresh just like freshly washed shampoo. Now even though my hair might look okay anyone with long hair knows that it tends to pick up smells from cooking, fumes from cars, cigarette smoke etc. so even though it can look clean it doesn't always smell it. It smells of cherries and it is a lovely smell and one that rally counteracts any nasty smells. For the most part it works really well as long as you make sure and use it correctly. When I first got this I was just spraying it on my hair and combing it through and it was making my hair wet and when it dried it made it look greasy and I ended up having to wash my hair to make it look better. I figured out that I needed to hold this a further distance from my hair and just give it a couple of spritzes and allow the refresher to mist over my hair. This worked and my hair got neither wet nor greasy and the spray cut through any bad smells and left my hair smelling clean and fresh with a lovely hint of cherries. I actually really liked the smell of this so used it probably more than I should have as I was using it loads even when I had already washed my hair but still it lasted for ages. I would definitely consider buying this again next time I am made to feel obliged to order something from someone's Avon book.
I like to feel like I smell nice and fresh as all times but to be honest as a carer you don't tend to smell as fresh as you would like at all times and some of the nasty smells seem to cling to my hair. I decided to give this product a go as sometimes I will finish at 10pm one night and be back in work by 8am the next morning and with travelling time and 2 children to sort on a morning I simply don't have time for a shower in between shifts. I bought the product from Avon and as it is one of their own products you cannot buy it anywhere else, you can buy Avon from a representative or on the online shop although you pay postage costs if you don't order over £20. This product was on offer when I bought it and costs about £1 which was a great price as it retails at £2.50 a 150ml bottle. The product comes packaged in a see through plastic bottle which has a pump spray top on it, it looks the same as the linen spray so be careful not to mix them up if you have both products. The front of the bottle has a picture on it based around the colour pink which is really pretty. The point of the product is not to clean your hair but simply refresh it and make it smell nice again. The spray comes out of the bottle easily and sprays a mist but this is wet so be careful not to spray too much of it as the first time I used it I used a little too much and for all my hair smelt nicer it ended up looking a little greasy. The spray is really nice and smells sweet, you can smell the cherries in it but it isn't too heavy just gives your hair a refreshing smell which is what I need until I can hit the shower! I love this product, as long as you don't soak your hair in it your hair is left feeling light and refreshed, the spray is easy to use and smells lovely too. This is ideal for me when I am on back to back shifts and I don't have to go to work feeling as if I'm not properly clean. I have bought this again and when I run out I will keep buying it although of course I will be waiting for a special offer as everything eventually goes on offer in Avon if you wait long enough.
~ Avon Cherry Blossom Daily Hair Refresher Spray ~ I have a regular Avon rep who visits my house with a new brochure every time one comes out much to the annoyance of my hubby! I however love to have a good look through the book and always spend at least £10 (ish) handing over my order form and eagerly awaiting my delivery. Some time ago I bought this Cherry Blossom Hair Refresher Spray simply because it was on offer for 99p and I already use this in the room and linen spray and it's a really light, delicate, nice scent. It comes packaged in a clear plastic slim bottle, at the top you will find a small push action spray nozzle which is covered in a little clear plastic cap. It looks very much like the room and linen sprays making it quite hard to tell them apart so I would recommend keeping them separate, unlike me! I put them both in my bathroom cabinet and was spritzing the wrong one on my hair and wondering why my hair felt quite limp! Serves me right for not reading the bottle! I also did this with a can of furniture polish and hairspray ... I'll learn one day ... I hope! Polishing my hair indeed! So the point of these is pretty much the same as a dry shampoo although these are not dry and will spray a wet mist over the hair. I do usually wash my hair every night but sometimes if I haven't been bothered but need to pop out in the morning I don't want my hair to look or smell bad ... Not as though many people come along and sniff my hair but still. I find that with the dry shampoo sprays these can leave hair looking a little dull and I prefer to use these when I am putting my hair up to add volume but this spray just freshens up the hair without doing anything else. I simply spritz it over my hair and then quickly straighten it using my hair straighteners and this makes my hair smell fab as the hot plates run over it. I don't find they help with any greasiness but they will freshen hair. After using this spray I do feel that my hair does smell nice and fresh, the scent is a delicate light floral scent that I find quite nice. Obviously they don't clean your hair but it is good as a quick fix. I have also used this before heading on a night out, I had washed my hair in the morning and simply had left myself with no time to re-wash it so sprayed a healthy dose of this over my hair and quickly blasted it with the hair dryer, I was happy enough that my hair smelt great so I could just go ahead and style it as I wanted. Overall for the low price I do think these are an absolute bargain. They are an ideal quick fix and help stop you feeling grubby. They don't clean your hair but do mask any smells. Thanks for reading :o) x
Many regular readers of my reviews will be aware by now that I work part-time as an Avon Representative when my poor health allows. This allows me great access to many of the ranges of cosmetics and skincare items that are available from the Avon company. One Avon range that I really like is the "Avon Naturals" range, that has undergone a small facelift in recent times, seeing many new items being added to the overall range. A new addition stood out to me as being an appealing product and I decided to try it out for myself. The product in question is the "Avon Naturals Cherry Blossom Daily Hair Refresher" and whilst the normal price for the product is £2.50, I managed to pick up the product for half this amount during a recent promotion. The packaging for the product is fairly simplistic, in keeping with most of the other products in the same range. Comprising of a cylindrical bottle made of clear plastic, there is a 'pump' dispenser on top of the 150ml bottle to allow the product to be spritzed easily over the hair. There is an attractive label on front of the slim bottle detailing attractive white flowers in full bloom alongside some pretty pink 'swirl' designs. Based on the product's image, first impressions were that it was going to be a very feminine product to use. The idea behind the product is to allow for a bit of a 'freshen up' on your hair in-between your normal washing routine. A brief description of this is detailed on the Avon website, providing a little more detail..."In a rush and your hair needs a lift? simply spray onto dry hair to leave it smelling clean and looking fresh." I regularly use dry shampoo products in-between washes and was keen to see how the Avon Daily Hair Refresher would fare in comparison... I put the product to the test shortly after it arrived from Avon. I had ran out of dry shampoo products so decided to use the Avon product instead to see if it would work on my hair. Admittedly, my hair was not overly dirty, nor was it greasy but I felt it could use a bit of a 'freshen up' as it were. I liked how the product could be used on dry hair in the same way as my regular dry shampoo products as this is what makes them so convenient and quick to use. When it was time to try the product out, I spritzed the product over my shoulder-length hair, which was very easy to do thanks to the pump 'nozzle' spray on the bottle. I felt that the product didn't leave my hair 'sopping wet' which would have made it feel a bit off-putting I must admit. It did feel quite wet and moist although I felt it dried in quite quickly after a short time. I allowed the product to 'settle' a little on my roots and then used a small comb to transfer it through my hair to the ends. This took a mere moment and was without any fuss or hassle. The aroma of the product was very noticeable whilst it was being sprayed over my hair, but this is what I had expected given my experience of dry shampoo products. I didn't feel the product caught in my throat or made me cough, but I have to confess that neither did I find the scent totally swept me away. It was ok, being quite fruity and slightly floral but without any sort of sickly sweetness within it which would have made it slightly 'heady' for my own taste. The aroma felt quite summery and fresh, without being heavy. I felt too that the scent remained on my hair for a short time after application, and I was able to detect it a few times later in the day but not so much that it felt intrusive or over-bearing. After application, I noticed that there was no stickiness left behind, nor was there any sort of unpleasant residue to be found. Instead, I found that my hair felt slightly fresher than it had before, but only in terms of the smell of my hair. To explain this a little better, I felt that although my hair hadn't been smelly before I used the Avon product, the spray did add a little something to my unwashed hair by allowing it to carry a slightly refreshing fragrance for the remainder of the day. That is where my positive experience ends, however, as I found the end results were rather disappointing. I have to be honest and admit that I didn't like the way the Hair Refresher did NOTHING for the appearance of my hair. Admittedly, I don't often let my hair become overly dirty or greasy, but I do find that dry shampoo products tend to give my hair a bit of a 'lift' whether it is extremely dirty or not. This is usually by way of a little shine added to the hair, whilst any dirty residue from styling products or dirt is lifted and carried off the shafts of the hair. The Avon product in comparison, did nothing to add shine or vitality to my hair, nor did I notice it do anything to really refresh the appearance of my hair during the times I used it. The fairly pleasant smell was evident admittedly, but this is really the only evidence of the product that I could detect. This experience has led me to the conclusion that the Avon Hair Refresher is not as effective as using a dry shampoo product such as Batiste. I have found that the results achieved from the Avon product are purely in terms of allowing a gentle aroma to settle on the hair, rather than tackling the issue of removing grime or residue from the hair and making it look cleaner. For an everyday 'lift' I think the Avon Refresher works fine, but at times when my mobility problems take over, I really struggle to carry out tasks like washing and drying my hair and as a result I really rely on my Batiste to help make me feel clean and fresh. There is no way that the Avon Hair Refresher would be able to 'cope' with this task as my hair felt no cleaner and LOOKED no cleaner after use. Similarly, there was no noticeable healthy shine left behind after use, which is something I do experience when using a dry shampoo product. The product IS marketed as being a 'daily hair refresher' and not a dry shampoo however, so perhaps my expectations were a little too high. In truth, I would purchase it again, but purely for taking on holiday with me to somewhere with a hot climate when I feel my hair would benefit from a little 'freshen up' every day. Whilst at home however, I will stick to my dry shampoos as they work better for my own needs. As @ July 2012, the Avon Naturals Cherry Blossom Hair Refresher can be purchased directly from your Avon representative or online at www.avonshop.co.uk. The normal price is £2.50 but the range has regular offers and promotions, so you may well be able to purchase it for cheaper than this.
This has been out in Avon for a few months now and I bought it as soon as it came out. It is just the kind of product that I like and the scent sounded nice. This is part of the Naturals range which is a range in Avon that covers Shower gels, Body Lotions and Haircare products. The prices aren't all that bad for this range either and with Avon this is often on special offer and usually half price every other book. This comes in a 150ml bottle and is a pump action bottle so it works out to be quite economical. The normal price of this is £2.50 but I got this when it was £1.25. I have nearly finished the bottle and I bought another one as it is a product I just want to keep using. So what is the idea of this? Well it doesn't do anything apart from Freshen your Hair. It doesn't mop the Oil up or wash your Hair or that, but then again it is not meant to either. Basically this is a fragranced Water and the scent of this is quite strong when you first spray this. Just squirt this thought or on top of your Hair. Once this has dried the scent becomes more subtle but it is still easy enough to smell this a few hours after spraying this. I tend to spray a good 6-7 squirts of this as my Hair is a medium lenght and thick so I go all through my Hair and then comb it afterwards. I don't just use this when my Hair needs washed I use this every day just for the scent. Being a Water then you don't get a build up on your Hair so this is a simple product. A good product that will help get rid of smells on your hair - but I would say it just masks the smells and doesn't "kill" the scents. Good priced even at the normal price as well and a bottle will last a good lenght of time.
I bought this hair refresher after seeing it on offer in the Avon brochure for just under £1. This hair refresher smells lovely. It smells of cherry blossom which is a gorgeous fruity scent that smells quite sweet and uplifting. The actual spray has a faint hint of colour added to it, which I would describe as a pale pinky colour. The spray is 150ml in size and it's said to refresh hair inbetween washes, a bit like a dry shampoo. Luckily this spray does just that. It's easy to use. I just spray it onto my roots and massage (or brush) it through the rest of my hair. The spray manages to refresh my hair, taking away the dull limp feeling that you often get when your hair hasn't been washed for a day or two. The spray doesn't feel greasy and it doesn't leave any residue on your hair after use either. All it leaves behind is it's wonderful smell, oh and the fact that it leaves your hair soft and super shiny too. The spray lasts ages as one spray delivers a decent amount of mist. I have coloured hair and the spray doesn't make my colour fade (or run) and I would recommend it. The spray is good quality and the smell reminds me of summer. It's very uplifting and refreshing and it hangs around for days (or until you wash your hair again). You can use the spray on dry OR wet hair. I would recommend this spray.
*~*Introduction*~* I've been using Avon items sporadically for years now, and after a brief stint as a Rep myself then giving it up I found that there were no local Rep's in my area so stopped buying for a while. My friend is now a fully fledged Rep so I can now get access to Avon on tap and have therefore been buying from there when the mood (and funds) are willing. For Christmas I received a large bundle of Avon goodies from said friend and one such item that was amongst the the booty was this - Daily Hair Refresher from their Naturals range which is fragranced with Cherry Blossom. As I am a fan of cherry scented products I was thoroughly looking forward to trying this out as it sounded lovely but is it any good? *~*What is it?*~* This is a fragrant spray that when applied is meant to freshen up the hair in between washes. It's not a dry shampoo and wont cleanse the hair but it will refresh it supposedly until the next hair wash. *~*Price, packaging & availability~*~ As this is an Avon product it can be bought via a Rep through one of the Avon brochures or online @ the Avon shop (www.avonshop.co.uk). As I always make a point of saying there are also many items available on Ebay as well as much cheaper prices so it's always worth having a quick peek on there too. Packaging wise, this spray is presented in a fairly slim line looking plastic bottle. Being upright standing, the spray is accessed via a small plastic nozzle which is perched on top and the appearance of the bottle is reminiscent of the room and linen sprays that are popular in Avon. The bottle has a slight opaqueness to it but it is still possible to see the liquid inside which is very appropriately a warm pinky/ red cherry colour. Daily Hair Refresher is available in one size which is 150 ml and normally retails at around the £2.50 mark which is quite reasonable but more often than not it pops up in the sale brochure at half price and can even be picked up at 99p occasionally. *~*My experience of using this*~* I recently had my hair cut fairly short and though I wash it every second day, I find that sometimes my hair is just in need of a freshen up rather than a full shampoo job. I often have dry shampoos in my bathroom cupboard but can't say I've ever really bothered buying 'Hair Refresher' products and if I hadn't have received this as part of a Christmas present I'm not sure I would have opted to buy it myself. On removing the clear plastic lid which seats neatly snuggled on top of the nozzle there is a faint aroma of cherry blossom that wafts my way. I love anything cherry scented, so I was actually looking forward to trying this just for the fragrance alone and by the faint aroma I detected emitting from the bottle before actually using it I was already impressed. On spritzing this a few times onto my dry hair I was taken in with the beautiful cherry aroma which had a very fresh and authentic fruity essence and didn't smell artificial surprisingly. The refresher spray is basically a fragranced water so has a thick heavy water consistency that wets the hair instantly so only a few short sharp spritzes are needed and I applied quite liberally the first time all over my hair. The cherry blossom smells divine and though my hair initially felt quite wet it did dry fairly quickly so that wasn't too much of a problem. *~*Results*~* I do actually quite like this product despite it being something I wouldn't automatically buy myself. I have found that just one or two quick sprays are all that is required for my shorter hair and this seems to suffice. Although I do wash and condition my hair every other day, by the second day my hair just smells 'like hair' having lost the initial fragrance of whichever shampoo/ conditioner I have used the day before so when I spritz a small amount of this on my hair it suddenly regains that fresh 'just washed' scent. Once applied to my hair the cherry blossom scent smells quite strong, though not overpowering, and as it dries the scent does fade somewhat. Despite this my hair seems infused with the fragrance for several hours though becomes fader with time obviously but for a few hours at least it regains the fragrance. When I first started to use this I found finding the correct balance was difficult as too much applied can leave my hair feeling with a slight greasy residue when dry and not enough applied can leave no fragrance. I have found that about 2 quick sprays of it all over my hair seems about the correct balance and once administered I give a quick comb through then simply leave once my hair is styled. This is a pleasant enough product and if I see it in the brochure on offer price I will definitely buy another bottle but wouldn't be prepared to pay £2.50 as I don't think it is worth that amount. I have found it effective for helping to style my hair and also comes in handy when the weather was warm recently for just revitalizing it and generally freshening it up. *~*Recommended?*~* I do actually like this but it's not something I would eagerly rush out to buy when the bottle is finally used up. Yes it's nice enough but not really an essential hair item like shampoo and conditioner, but it offers a pretty scent and does linger for a few hours when used. I think when bought at 99p it is a good product to have in just for the sake of it and think it would benefit my hair probably if the weather was hot and my hair felt sweaty, but then again I'd probably be more inclined to just give it a quick wash than 'mask' it with a product. Nice enough if bought cheap but certainly not worth £2.50 in my opinion but as this was part of a gift I'm not complaining! 3/5
