Advantages: Adds body to thin hair

Disadvantages: Not readily available yet (Jan 2001)

Circ shampoo is a new product aimed at men with thinning hair. However, there appears to be no reason why it cannot also be used by women with thinning or fine hair, and since a free sample arrived here unannounced, we have all tried it with excellent results.

It works by adding supplements to the hair shaft to make it appear thicker and fuller. Unlike some other shampoos and conditioners which claim to do the same thing, it does not make the hair sticky or greasy and yet does seem to be successful in adding body to thin hair.

Along with these obvious benefits, it has a pleasant smell and matching conditioners, and is not unduly expensive. The only problem might occur in trying to find it in the shops as it is a brand new product: look for a bright blue bottle with a silver circle on it.

The web site (www.circmen.com) says that it will be available from January 2001 and lists a lot of major stores such as Asda, Boots and Sainsbury's. In the meantime, a free sample can be obtained by filling in an online form, so there is nothing to lose by checking out my opinion for yourself!

whilst i have every sympathy with those suffering from hair loss, my husband being one of them, the problem with products such as this is that it is merely an illusion in that these products coat the hair with plastics therefore making it look as though there is more of it! Of course the more you wash you hair with it the more coating you get but then the problem of build up occurs which can eventually cause skin disorders. If you have found a product that suits you and makes you happy thats fine but it is worth noting that the build up should be removed with a special build up remover shampoo (or a teaspoon of fine borax if you can get your hands on it mixed with a mild shampoo) on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
