Advantages: Non greasy and makes your hair lovely and soft
Disadvantages: Doesn't particularly make your hair more shiny
Citré Shine is a relatively new line of haircare products. I tried this particular product out of pure curiosity as I was browsing one day in Boots. I actually tried a specific trial packet too, containing two 60ml sachets for a total of £1.65. A perfect size if you just want to give an unknown product a try! One sachet actually will go a very long way and last weeks. Shine Miracle is an "anti-frizz polisher" and claims to smooth and seal the cuticle of the hair thus giving a nice glossy but natural shine. It contains citrus fruit extracts (grapefruit, lime and pummelo), amino acids, vitamins C and E and Pro- vitamin B5 - all apparently very good for anyone's hair. The idea is to massage two or three drops of the clear gel into the hair. (especially the ends) This can be done when your hair is damp after a wash or completely dry. Comb it through well and do whatever styling or care you usually do with your hair. I've used it in both ways. After washing I towel dried my hair and put some gunk in! It feels really slippery when you put it in at first but it dries completely and you'd never know it was there. I found that it left my hair much more manageable, soft and conditioned. It looked slightly more shiny but the most noticable thing was the lovely soft, healthy feel. I used it on my dry hair one day after getting out of bed to find it had been redesigned during the night - a bit sticky out bit to the side, enough to poke someone's eye out! Help lol! I put a tiny bit of Shine Miracle on my hair, combed it in and it definetely calmed it down and made it easier to handle. I'd definetely recommend keeping some of this in the bathroom for those "mad hair" days when you need a quick solution and for occasional use to condition your hair a bit more. It would be excellent as a treat for hair during that cold, icy winter weather if you find your hair gets a bit dry and wiry. I
didn't find a huge difference in shine but maybe it works differently on different types of hair. When you do use it though, it doesn't leave your hair in any way greasy. It just dries away completely. Personally I'll keep a small sachet handy to use occasionally to add to the softness and manageability. (It's about £6 for the full size bottle.)

- 22/06/01 I just tried this recently, and it's just what I had been looking for - y'know, this *miraculous* kind of stuff that hairdressers always put on your hair to make it look and feel ESPECIALLY lovely after they cut it for you, and then the next day all the glam has gone ;-) |

- 21/03/01 I love this range, but I haven't tried this yet. I will give it ago after reading your informative opinion. Thanks! I sometimes use the shampoo and conditioner - you should give them a go as I find they do make a difference to your hair by making it more shiney. |
