Advantages: Beautiful, tangle free, shiny hair! Smells gorgeous.
Disadvantages: Slightly slimy residue
Clairol Herbal Essences conditioner is, without a doubt, the best conditioner I have ever used. I have very long, thick, straight hair, and most other conditioners leave me with slightly knotty hair. Herbal Essences, on the other hand, conditions my hair so well that all I have to do is run a brush through it. When I first came across Herbal Essences I thought the smell was too strong, but now I absolutely adore it. Not only that, but the smell lasts for days. I've tried many other conditioners, but Herbal Essences is the only one that consistently leaves my hair shiny and untangled. I can really feel the difference in my hair when I use other conditioners - which means I have to make sure that whenever I stay away from home I take some with me! Another good thing about Herbal Essences is that it's *always* on special offer in supermarkets, so you can usually get a "two for the price of one" deal. The only bad thing about it is that, even more so than most conditioners, it leaves a rather slimy residue on the neck. But I can live with that for such gorgeous hair!

- 05/08/00 I haven't really used any other shampoos in the three years since I discovered Herbal Essences! Of the others, the ones that have some kind of taming effect on my hair, are the Wella "Liquid Hair" shampoo and conditioner, and St Ives Swiss Formula (my previous favourite.) Hope this helps and that you like the shampoo - the smell of it can take some getting used to though as it lingers for a very long time! |

- 03/08/00 Good review, but it would have been even better (for me at least) if you'd compared it directly against some other brands that I may have used or know. I will try Herbal Essences on the strength of the review, however, so it does the job. :) |
