Advantages: Smells lovely, leaves you hair looking nice

Disadvantages: Doesn't perform miracles

It is said that most people when they are choosing what shampoo or conditioner tend to go for those that are on offer. This is very true of myself and probably why I buy Herbal Essences as it always seems to be on BOGOF. I have found it to be a good product though which is why I always go back for more.

Herbal Essence is produce by Clairol and is sold in many stores including supermarkets, Boots and Superdrug. You can get a 400ml bottle for around £3. They often have offers as I said so you can get two bottles for £3 which I think is a very good deal. Also if you buy them from Boots you can get boots advantage points as well. They are located with the normal shampoo and conditioner section of stores.

There is a wide variety of choice of shampoos in the range. Each one is for a different hair type and does a different thing. Therefore you can choose one that suits your hair. The ones that I have used the most and like best are the fruit fusions one and the silk n shine.

The fruit fusion comes in blue bottles. The shampoo bottle always is a clear colour so you can see the liquid inside, which in this case is a blue colour. The conditioner is in a blue coloured bottle so you can tell the difference between the two when you are washing your hair. The fruit fusions is for dry and damaged hair and is supposed to provide deep nourishment and shine. It has coconut in it which I think makes it have a really nice smell. I would say the smell is one of the best things about these shampoos, it really is nice. The front of the bottle tells you what type it is and for what hair type so it is easy to choose the right type when in the store. There is also a picture of coconuts so you can guess what it will smell like. On the back of the bottle it gives you instructions on how to use the product.

I tend to use the shampoo all over the hair in order to give it a good use. I use a generous amount as it is quite cheap so I am not worried about wasting it. When using the conditioner I usually use this mainly on my ends of my hair as these are the most damaged parts. I have also heard that when you use it on your roots it can make them look greasy. I also usually leave the conditioner in for a couple of minutes as well to make sure it is working. They are easy to rub in to the hair and also to wash out. They lather up well and provide a really nice smell. When I dry my hair afterwards I find that it is really soft and smells like which I like. I am not sure it miraculously cures my hairs problems but it does leave it looking and feeling nice.

The other type I use is the silk n shine. This is in a pink bottle and smells more of flowers rather than fruit. The smell is not as strong but I still like it. This shampoo and conditioner is for coloured/permed/dry/damaged hair, which is good for me as my hair is highlighted and therefore gets very dry. This shampoo and conditioner work just as the other one does. I find though this one leaves my hair silky and soft which is really nice. Again my hair doesn't look transformed but does look nice.

There are many other types so I am sure you would be able to find one that has the smell and results that you like.

Overall I think these are great value shampoos and conditioners. They are easy to use and leave your hair in good condition although they do no perform miracles.

Summary: A good value shampoo and conditioner
