WHAT IS IT?
This is shampoo and conditioner that is made by Herbal Essences. It is a 2 in 1 product that says it will clean and condition your hair and make it look shinier than before.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
You make your hair wet and then apply the shampoo and conditioner, massage it into your hair and scalp and then rinse it off. You should rinse it careful because if you leave any in your hair it will make your head itch and it is quite hard to rinse so it takes a long time, to use a 2 in 1 product is to save time but that is not true if you have got to spend longer rinsing it.
WHAT I THINK
I think this shampoo and conditioner is very bad. I bought it a long time ago and it has been in my cupboard and now I have taken it out again to use it up I can remember why I stopped using it before.
It does not make my hair feel very clean and I am unhappy about that because straight after it has been washed my hair does look and feel clean but that goes away fast and them my hair starts to look like it is greasy, I do not have greasy hair because I use bleach alot so it is dry but this shampoo puts an oily feeling into my hair.
The conditioner doesn't condition my hair either and it is hard to brush and style after I have washed it. The only way it makes my hair shine is because of making it look greasy and I would not like for that to happen so if the only way they can make shine is to do that then I would like instead for my hair to be dull!
This shampoo and conditioner costs about £2.89 and I will not buy it again.
1 Dooyoo Heart but it should have none because it is very bad.
For a dazzling shine!!
I really like the Clairol Herbal essences range of shampoos and I have used quite a few of the different varieties in the past. My favourite one is the dazzling shine which comes in the green bottle.
I colour my hair every eight weeks or so and I find that after the initial brightness it tends to fade quite quickly and doesn't look as dazzling as I want it to so I use this shampoo as I get nearer the end of my colouring to give my hair a boost. I normally use the separate shampoo and conditioner but as I have other conditioners that usually last longer than the shampoos I decided to get a bottle of dazzling shampoo plus conditioner. I find one bottle a lot easier to store in my bathroom than two bottles obviously and of course this is really handy to take away for the weekend or away on holiday.
According to the bottle, "Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner gives high shine in half the time. It is a heady mix with berry, tea and orange flower extracts. Get both shampoo power and conditioning benefits squeezed into one bottle to maintain your hair's moisture balance in one go. Go from normal hair to superstar hair in one gorgeous experience with a deliciously intoxicating fragrance."
I would definitely call this fragrance intoxicating, I love it. It's very fresh and fruity and I really like the tea flavour in it which gives it quite an unusual smell.
The 2 in 1 formula has a gel like consistency but not too thick or gloopy. It lathers up very well and rinses out well do. I never find I have a sticky residue in my hair after using this formula. It's probably a bit thicker than a regular shampoo and after I have used it my hair feels really soft and when I get out of the shampoo it does comb out really well. Normally I don't like a mixture of shampoo and conditioner as I find the conditioner doesn't really work very well but I think this one works perfectly. The instructions tell you to lather, rinse and enjoy and I find that just one application is enough and perfect for me.
A 400 ml bottle costs £3.89 and is a good 2 in 1 buy in my opinion.
I usually use separate shampoo and conditioner, and usually a salon branded variety at that, but recently I went on holiday for a few nights and wanted a smaller bottle to take with me. I opted for this dazzling shine 2 in 1 from herbal essences because I found it for a good price (£1.50 for 250.ml) in home bargains.
It comes in a green squeezy plastic bottle as pictured and the product is extracted by simply squeezing through the flip top. This particular 2 in 1 is for normal hair and is aimed as giving a shine to your hair. It contains berry, tea and orange flower extracts.
The shampoo and conditioner is creamy in appearance and quite runny too. It smells gorgeous and really fresh as soon as you pour onto the palm of your hand and this gets even stronger as you lather it in your hair. I do use quite a lot per application but I do have long, thick hair. I find you need a generous amount to get a decent lather though and it certainly doesn't lather as easily as other shampoo I have used. It rinses easily from my hair though and leaves it feeling clean but not dry at all. Disappointing, the smell is not very strong on my hair but what scent remains does last a long time and I love the subtle wafts of it I get throughout the day. I didn't find it gave my hair any more shine than usual although it did leave it feeling in pretty good condition.
Overall, this was a pretty decent buy. It is convenient to use, smells lovely and works well too. I wouldn't use it all the time but that really is just personal preference. Certainly for the price I paid I have no grumbles and would recommend giving it a try if you are looking for a 2 in 1.
While choosing toiletries for my holiday bag I decided to pick up a bottle of this for convenience. I paid around £4 for a 400ml bottle of this from boots. While this is a little expensive for 2 in 1 I didn't mind as my experience with herbal essence has been great. Plus it was both a shampoo and conditioner and would save me carrying a bottle of each with us. The bottle is just a standard bottle very similar to the rest of their range of shampoos. It is easy to use with a flip top lid, and I found it easy to be able to get a fair amount of it out each time. I have thick hair that falls past my shoulders, and at times it can be difficult to control. I normally fall into the normal hair category when choosing products for my hair these produce the best results.
The first thing I noticed was the smell as it jumps out of the bottle as soon as you lift the lid. It is a very fruity scent with the berries and orange taking over. It is very sweet which I love but at times it smells really artificial and sickly. I used a large amount of this and began rubbing into my hair, and while it did begin to lather there really was not a lot. As this is a shampoo and conditioner I decided I would try using a little more which made my hair feel a lot smoother. There still was not a huge about of lather, but enough to clean my hair efficiently.
The consistency is a little thick and it felt a little sticky on my hands so I was worried it would leave a film on my hair. It actually washes out very easily as there is not a lot of lather to wash away, and I found to very easy to remove it all from my hair quickly. There was no sticky residue left behind, and while my hair did not feel overly soft it felt clean and fresh. The scent is still notable for a while after it dries, but it fades quite quickly which is disappointing. I like my hair products to smell good as well as last for a while.
My hair feels both softer and looks a lot healthier. I found that my hair was actually looking a lot better than it felt, and had a nice healthy shine to it. It did not help tame my frizz in anyway, but I find I usually have to use a serum even with my normal shampoo. My hair felt clean and I was ready to go without too much fuss. I don't feel it gives the same results you would get from a separate shampoo and conditioner, but I do feel it is one of the better 2 in 1s I have ever used. It seems to work well to make my hair appear cleaner and feel cleaner, but I just find my hair feels a little rough and dry after use.
After using this for the week it kept my hair clean but I did find it was really dry. The weather was bitterly cold and it was really windy while we were in France, and this has a negative effect on my hair anyway. That mixed with these 2 in 1, I found was a bad combination, and my wavy hair turned into a nightmare. After using my regular shampoo and conditioner when I returned home and a deep treatment it seems to have a little life back.
I am in two minds as to if I would recommend this. My hair can be difficult anyway so to use this while away and the weather being so cold is a little tricky to judge of it was the fault of this product. I love the smell but just wish it would last a little longer, especially as it is one of the first things that jump out at you. It is suggested for normal to oily hair so I thought it would be fine as I always use shampoos for normal hair, but this could be why it feels like my hair needs moisture added after I use it. It did clean my hair and make it look a lot better, but I found it difficult to control and style. My hair felt rough to touch and after 6 days I found my hair desperate for some moisture. For the price I expected a lot better as it really feels more of just a shampoo, than shampoo and conditioner.
I don't have a particular shampoo, my hair seems to prefer a change quite often. For the last few washes, I've been using this Herbal Essences 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. It's been a few years since I used any of their products but when I saw this one on offer at Tesco for £1.89 for 400ml, I bought one to try. It's usual price is £3.79 but it has been on offer there for a few weeks. With it being a 2 in 1, I wanted to see if I'd notice any difference using a combined product on my hair and if not, it would save me some money. There are other products within the herbal essences range but this one seemed the most suitable 2 in 1 for me - it's for normal hair and although my hair sometimes goes dry at the ends and greasy at the roots the day after washing, I don't particularly see my hair as having any major problems that need to be addressed. The design of the bottle is essentially the same as the picture, although it's not that shade of green, it's a mint green colour.
The shampoo 2 in 1 claims to balance the moisture within the hair and keep it shining. The shampoo contains natural silk extract that helps to reveal the hair's natural shine.
Using the Product
The first thing I noticed was that the bottle had a weird top - not your usual flip top, it's one where you press downwards to open it up at the side to squeeze the shampoo out. I'm not keen on this design; I find it gets a bit messy when I click it back down to close, especially as the bottle gets used more. The scent of the shampoo hits me instantly upon opening - it smells very strongly of watermelon - although I was expecting the scent of rose extracts as that's what is mentioned on the bottle! As I'm not a fan of melon in general, it's not the best scent for me although it is bearable. That is a personal choice though, if you like the scent of melons then I assume you'd love the scent of this. Do not expect to smell the roses described on the bottle when using it though as I can't detect them! The scent is good in that it lingers for most of the day in your hair - even after using the hairdryer and straighteners. I find the scent a lot more bearable once it's calmed down after drying as it just leaves a subtle smell that lasts for most of the day.
The shampoo is a mint green colour and when I apply it to wet hair it lathers up quite well. I use just over a 10p sized blob on my thick and long hair. I find it feels a bit thicker though than other shampoos I've used in the past. As it's a 2 in 1, I tend to apply it first, shower and then rinse it out at the end so it's left in my hair for a few minutes to work it's conditioning qualities. Whether this has any effect on the results I have no idea. I find that it's slightly harder to rinse out from my hair than other shampoos I've used but it doesn't cause me any major issues. The bottle does state to use it twice per use - this is not something I ever do because someone once told me that it wasn't good for hair to use two applications of any shampoo. I suppose this means though that I haven't used it in the method that they advise and this could impact on my findings.
I have found it a bit harder to brush through my hair before drying. I wouldn't say it's made it knottier, the brush just doesn't seem to glide through my hair as much as it does when I use separate shampoo and conditioner. With my hair being long and thick hair, I always need the brush to glide through as it hurts my scalp otherwise if I'm having to tug it! I've noticed that my hair feels soft and smooth to the touch after using which I thought was great at first but it seems to go a little too soft if that's possible - when it is straightened, there are often odd hairs sticking up all over the place and this isn't something I've ever noticed with other shampoos. My hair does feel lovely and clean though which I suppose is the main aim; I've never found that I've had to wash it more than every other day which is my usual cycle. As for the shine claims, I haven't noticed any sort of extra shine, my hair just looks like it always has done. It's not at all dull, but it isn't very shiny looking either. Like I've mentioned in previous reviews though, I do find that shining my blonde hair is much harder, darker hair seems to look shinier in general in my experience.
I don't think I would recommend this particular product, because I have used other shampoos that have faired better on my hair for the same or a lower price but as I'm new to using 2 in 1 bottles, I can't compare this to other combined ones available only to separate shampoo and conditioner. I may pick up Herbal Essences separate shampoo and conditioner next time I'm in Tesco if they are still on offer to see if they are any better as it may just be that I'm not keen on the 2 in 1 quality. As I don't recommend this item even at the special offer price, I certainly don't at the full price as I think £3.79 is extremely expensive - it doesn't feel like an expensive brand when applied and after use. I rate it 2 stars overall as there are quite a few things that I don't like about it, although my hair does feel soft and clean afterwards.
Thanks for reading :o)
I like to have the option of a 2 in 1 shampoo as well as separates, sometimes convenience and practicality takes over the need to pamper, especially when I am in a rush. After separating up the bathroom shelves a while back so my Husband and Son have a shelf for there manly showering paraphernalia I discovered I was lacking in 2 in 1 shampoo, my Husband had claimed the Wash & Go for his 'man shelf' and was thoroughly sniffing heads to make sure his products had not been borrowed.
Happily I had printed off a voucher from supersavvyme that gave me a £1 off any Herbal Essence product. So armed with voucher I made my way to the isles of Tesco and to my joy I spotted a half price offer across the range which made my 400ml bottle of Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine 2 in 1 89p. The bottle is similar to the one in the dooyoo picture so no need for a description.
To use the 2 in 1 is simplicity itself, wet hair, lather up and rinse. The 2 in 1 is a lovely yellowy green colour and smells fresh and a bit fruity, I find the 2 in 1 to be a little bit runnier than regular shampoo. The 2 in 1 foams up on my head instantly and fills the bathroom with its strong sweet scent, it is really easy to rinse out and leaves my hair feeling clean and tangle free. Once out the shower my hair is easy to brush, just as it would be if I used a separate conditioner.
I usually leave my hair to air dry, unless I am in a hurry. When my hair air dries it is soft and tangle free although a bit fuzzy. When I blow dry my hair it comes out looking very smooth and shiny and feels very soft. My hair does have a tendency to get greasy at the roots quite quickly after washing and the 2 in 1 does nothing to effect the condition of my hair either way.
I would not described the results from the 2 in 1 as dazzling shine but I would say it leaves my hair feeling and smelling clean and refreshed and does not irritate my scalp in any way. I am more than happy to keep using the 2 in 1 as an alternative to separate shampoo and conditioner when I am in a rush. I just have to stop the Husband claiming it for his 'man shelf' due to it being green in colour.
The Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine 2 in 1 is currently on offer in Tesco for half price making it £1.89 and if you are a member of supersavvyme you can get a voucher for an extra pound off making it excellent value.
Thank you for reading.
I have been using Herbal Essence shampoo and conditioner for several years but sometimes find it a rush in the mornings, especially on the days that I have to get the bins out, so a few months ago I took the plunge and bought the two in one dazzling shine bottle.
I regularly buy the shampoo and conditioner in the dazzling shine range and there is also a hair mask, but I have not tried this as yet. All items in this range, including the two in one shampoo + conditioner are green. Apart from the hair mask they come in wavy shaped bottles and have lids that can be flipped open and shut easily with one finger. All are for normal hair types - I buy this as its easier than buying several different varieties to suit each member of my household.
The two in one shampoo + conditioner is of a thickish consistency with a pale green colour with a fruity (maybe a hint of melon) flowery scent. It is supposed to have extracts of pearl and rose in it. I am sniffing it now and it doesn't smell particularly of roses and there is no pearlescent gleam. That said it is very pleasant.
The shampoo/conditioner is easy to dispense - the lid is pressed down and it flips a little to allow the contents to ooze out. I live in a hard water area but I find I only need a little shampoo to work up a decent lather on my shoulder length hair. I generally leave it in for a couple of minutes, like I would a conditioner, before rinsing off.
Once dry, my hair feels lovely and clean, but not as silky smooth as it does when I use the separate shampoo and conditioner. However, I feel this is a small price to pay for the extra few minutes I gain from only having to do one wash and rinse. The two in one is also much more convenient to take to the swimming pool or gym - it takes up less room in your bag and weighs less than having two separate bottles.
You can buy the dazzling shine two in one shampoo conditioner from all major supermarkets and chemists. They are nearly always on an offer somewhere - I cant remember the last time I paid full price for one. Boots and Morrsions are currently selling then for £1.89, Asda have a 2 for £4 offer, Superdrug are selling them at two for £5.99. Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose have no offers and are selling them at £3.79. It might be worth checking out Poundland as the sometimes stock them. They also do a range of smaller 200 ml bottles but these are rarely on offer so it is much cheaper to buy the larger 400ml bottles.
I swear by Aussie hair care products, particularly their shampoos. However, as many is tight, I have been having to purchase shampoos which are a little cheaper. I have dabbled with Herbal Essences before and I find that their shampoos are usually quite good. I picked up the green one, as this is my preferred one. I didn't even realise until I had got home that this was a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner which is good as you get two for the price of one really.
This shampoo was purchased from Boots, however I assume you can get it from various drugstores and supermarkets as Herbal Essences is such a large brand name. This bottle cost me around the £3.50 mark which I suppose is a little steep, but when you get combined shampoo and conditioner it justifies the price a little more. Also, as I will be the only person using this, it seems a good price to keep me going. You do get a 400ml bottle for the price which is a good size. It would be good to take if you are going away for a trip as you don't have the hassle of packing two bottles.
One of the things I really like about this is the scent. I don't like shampoos to have an overpowering scent, but I do like a subtle scent as it makes your hair seem cleaner. Reading the ingredients which create this scent wouldn't normally be a scent I would choose, however they combine wonderfully. It is a mix of berry, tea and orange flower extracts, making it quite a versatile scent for both men and women to use. I also find it very nice to use at this particular time of the year in the summer. I do also find that the scent lingers on the hair which is nice, as it leaves it quite clean.
Using this is very simple, as the lid is not one you have to fidget around with. The bottle is sleek and modern and looks great in the shower, especially because of its bold colour. You simply have to push down on the top of the bottle to open it up and dispense the liquid. You only need a little of this for it to go a long way. The consistency of this is perfect, as it meets somewhere in the middle between that of a shampoo and a conditioner. It lathers up really nicely which I was surprised with, as I often find that conditioners don't. It was simple to use, and as it lathered quickly, it makes it perfect for me to use as I am often in a rush. From the minute you rub this into your hair, it starts to feel squeaky clean, and it washes out wonderfully meaning there is no hassle at all. As far as the use of this goes, I was really happy.
The results after the first few uses of this were pretty impressive. My hair was shiny and kept clean throughout the day which I was happy with. However, after about a week, I started to get a major product build up in my hair. I always seem to get this whenever I go back to this product which is a shame really as I just can't budge it. I did have good results to begin with, meaning that perhaps it would work well for others, but as my hair is quite thin and oily anyway, I have to be careful when it comes to shampoos. I would recommend that those who have a hair type similar to stick to just using the shampoo rather than this 2 in 1, as I much prefer that.
Overall, this is an okay product but I would only use it on a short term basis due to the awful product build up which it left in my hair. It is simple to use, lathers well and you get the benefits of a shampoo and a conditioner in one. Unfortunately, it just didn't seem to take to my hair which isn't great, but I will continue to use just the shampoo on its own for now. Thanks for reading.
As you may know from some of my previous reviews I loved the original Herbal Essences range and was not impressed when they were changed. I tried a few but, like a lot of other people, couldn't find one that I liked so I stopped using them and started trying other brands.
For my birthday last year my sister gave me the matching shampoo and conditioner in the Dazzling Shine fragrance. I have to say that I was really surprised when I tried them as they are really good - mind you it does say 'new formula' on the front of all the bottles so I think that the powers that be have actually listened to all the dissenting voices and done something about it.
Anyway, when it came to Christmas and hubby was buying lots of stocking fillers for me, he decided to stick with the Dazzling Shine so that he could be sure that it would be one that I liked. What he didn't notice was that instead of buying shampoo and conditioner he actually bought the conditioner and a bottle of the 2 in 1 combined shampoo and conditioner.
I don't usually use the combined ones, as I like to shampoo my hair and then put on conditioner for a few minutes to really give my hair a boost, but I decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth (I can't afford to at the moment!) and try it.
The product is called Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine 2 in 1 Moisture Balance Shampoo and Conditioner. The current full price for a 400ml bottle in Boots is £3.49 although there is an offer on at the moment and it is half price at £1.74 which is very good value.
This shampoo and conditioner, like the others in this range, is in a green, wavy, see through plastic (recycleable) bottle with a pale green lid with a bright green top and it stands the right way up with the opening at the top. The writing on the front of the bottle tells us that it contains 'shimmery pearl and rose extracts for normal hair'. It also contains berry, tea and orange flower extracts so it does smell really nice. The liquid inside the bottle is pale green and looks creamy like a conditioner rather than clear like a shampoo.
On the back of the bottle in very tiny writing are the instructions for use and the usual warnings telling you to be careful not to get any in your eyes and to wash it out with clear water straight away if you do. It is pretty standard stuff really.
As with the others in this range the flat top of the bottle has a small dip in one side. The idea is that you press the dip so that it rocks slightly to reveal a small hole in the opposite side. When you invert the bottle and squeeze the liquid comes out through the hole. Initially I found a problem with this because, when I am in the shower and obviously not wearing my glasses, I keep thinking that the liquid comes out of the side of the lid where the little dip is as it looks as though it should. I did waste a bit in the beginning but I have got the hang of it now! LOL!
As I said earlier the shampoo and conditioner is pale green and creamy in consistency. It smells fresh and flowery but not too sweet and I find that I don't need much to create a lot of thick creamy lather. I massage the lather into my hair and scalp when I first get into the shower, I then wash myself as normal finally rinsing the lather off my hair at the end of my shower. It rinses off easily and leaves my hair feeling really clean and ready for drying and styling.
Of course there is the added advantage of only carrying one bottle around which would be really convenient if you were going swimming or to the gym.
In the past, when I have tried the combined shampoo and conditioner, I have found that my hair looks flat with little shine as though I have just used shampoo alone and not a very good one at that!
This product was actually a revelation to me! I found that after I had used it and then blow dried my hair it looked and felt great. My hair had a lovely shine and it felt soft and, importantly, that feeling lasted! I was amazed!
So there I am - I didn't like the new Herbal Essences and I didn't like 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioners - now I am recommending Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine 2 in 1 Moisture Balance Shampoo and Conditioner I can hardly believe it myself!
After reading a couple of reviews on here about the herbal essences dazzling shine shampoo and conditioner I decided to give it a try the next time that I saw it on offer as it seemed to have good reviews. So on a trip to Asda I went for a look down the toiletries isle and found the herbal essence range of shampoos and conditioners on offer. They had the dazzling shine one included in the offer so I picked up the shampoo and matching conditioner. Well that's what I thought I had picked up as they were next to each other on the shelf and one was clear and the other not so I presumed the clear was the shampoo and the other the conditioner. But the conditioner actually turned out to be the 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner in one bottle. I didn't actually realise this until I started to lather what I though was conditioner into my hair and it started to foam like a shampoo. When I looked at the bottle I saw the small 2 in 1 logo on the front and thought it was no wonder I didn't see it as it is rather small and there is nothing else on the bottle to make it look any different from the conditioner.
I paid just £1.00 for a 200ml bottle for the 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner and didn't feel it necessary to take it back to Asda to cause a fuss as it was partially my fault that I had not checked the bottle fully before purchasing. Also I do go swimming a couple of times per week and thought I could use the 2 in 1 for this as it would only mean taking one bottle with me.
The 2 in 1 comes in a green tinted clear plastic bottle with a bright lime green cap. The cap has a push button which reveals the opening that you can squeeze the 2 in 1 out of. On the back of the bottle you can find instructions for use, ingredients listings and a little info on how it works.
I did actually try the 2 in 1 this morning as I had not yet had chance to go and buy a bottle of the separate conditioner. My hair is generally very dry and prone to frizz, it can also look dull due to the dryness. I squeezed out an amount about the size of 2 50p's into my hand and applied it to my wet hair. The 2 in 1 lathered very well and had a lovely fresh fruity apple fragrance. The 2 in 1 rinsed out easily without too much effort, my hair did feel a little course when still wet so I did feel a little apprehensive of how this had worked on my hair.
But after blow drying my hair as normal I was very happy with the results, it did feel a little drier than usual but felt very soft and certainly looked more shiny than it normally does. I even received a couple of complements at work so it must work. The 2 in 1 contains silk extract which is meant to help clean the hair to reveal natural shine. Overall I was very impressed with this 2 in 1 and although I will be going back to purchase the separate conditioner as if I used this for every wash it would just not provide the full moisture that my hair needs it will do nicely for swimming or when I am in a hurry.
I regularly purchase 2in1 shampoos, as my husband likes the convenience of using these for his morning shower. I myself try to use a separate shampoo and conditioner to try keep my shoulder length hair in good condition but in reality I seem to be using his 2in1 almost as much as my own shampoo in order to make it to work on time! I would like to share with you my thoughts and experience after my recent use of Clairol Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine 2in1 moisture balance.
This brand from Proctor and Gamble is one that is probably familiar to most of you. I am not loyal to any brand of shampoo as I think most are over priced for what they are. Instead I like to purchase shampoo when its on special offer to get some more value for money. I bought this product as it was on offer and as it's a well know brand I thought that the product should be of good quality.
The packaging has a convenient green dispenser at the top matching closely the colour of the 2in1 shampoo and conditioner and this packaging is recyclable. The packaging has changed slight from the image above and it does state on the bottle that this is a 'New Formula'. On opening the dispenser the scent is reminiscent of sweet tropical fruits. This did surprise me as the label states that it contains 'shimmering pearl and rose extracts' so I did expect the scent of rose, but this isn't evident (I don't know what pearl extract should smell like so will refrain from comment on this extract!).
The 2in1 shampoo and conditioner is for 'normal hair' according to the label. I would consider myself to have 'normal hair' its straight without any volume and I don't suffer from too many dry ends so I thought this would fit my needs quiet closely. How wrong I was, I've now tried this 2in1 shampoo and conditioner about half a dozen times and am extremely disappointed with the results. The simple act of wetting hair, lathering and rinsing clean is fine it's the positively terrible condition it leaves my hair when dry that was the real disappointment. It creates hair akin to that which is dipped into a chip fryer, greasy, greasy, greasy (yes so bad it warrants this triple greasy mention)! Now and then I can get greasy roots but never before have I had freshly washed hair, which was so lacklustre and dreary. At first I thought I may not have washed it out correctly in my rush to catch the bus however all my other uses of the product have left my hair looking greasy and unwashed so I've given up trying this product any more. My husband has also been really disappointed with the results and has given up using it too.
I bought this on special offer at my local Sainsbury's supermarket recently, which was two 400ml bottles for £5. Individually you can expect to pay about £3.30 for this size bottle of the product. My keenness for a bargain has left me with another bottle of this in my bathroom cupboard, which I cannot see us ever using. I do think that for the results I have seen this is expensive and not good value for money.
For me its only gets a 1/5, the packaging promises dazzling shine and for the money I paid for this product I expected more than a greasy sheen!
Thanks for reading.
It has been a really long time since I have used a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. I've always found them pretty poor in the past, but when I saw Herbal Essences Dazzling Shine 2 in 1, I thought I'd give it another try. This set me back £1.00 for a 200ml bottle from Semi Chem.
I've tried other shampoo's and conditioner's by Herbal Essence and have found them, on the whole, considering the price to be pretty good in terms of performance and value for money, so I had no hesitation in giving this one a go.
The bottle is in the typical curvy style of other products in this range, the lid is one of those handy ones you press then squeeze the product out, nice and easy with no silly lids to mess about with. This makes it simple to use in the shower. The shampoo and conditioner is a pale green colour and has quite a nice creamy consistency.
The Dazzling Shine 2 in 1 moisture balance contains berry, tea and orange flower extracts and smells totally divine, in fact, almost good enough to eat! It has a rather delicious citrusy type of scent, with a little floral hint just for good measure. This scent really fills the air once you lather up.
With this being a 2 in 1 product you need a good size dollop to really lather up well, and to get right into the roots of your hair (well depending upon length). Once lathered, the foam is quite dense and sudsy, and it does take quite a time to rinse out thoroughly.
As you rinse you are aware that it is a 2 in 1 product, it does tend to leave hair feeling a bit knotty and tangled. I thought I'd give this the benefit of the doubt, and reserve my judgement until I towel dried and combed my hair through. Easier said than done. Whilst the product smells great, lathers well, it does not condition hair in the slightest. There is no evidence of a dazzling shine either.
I was left with coarse, dry and very tangled hair. In order to run a comb through my hair with minimal pain and effort, I had to use a leave in conditioner on top of the 2 in 1. I was very disappointed to say the least.
I didn't feel that my hair would be conditioned enough to enable me to style and dry my hair without additional conditioning products, and have only used this since with a conditioner to supplement it.
Would I buy this again? No definitely not. Nor would I recommend this to anyone who has thick long hair who would normally use a conditioner to keep their hair in tip top conditon. If you are happy just to wash and go, then this may be okay for you, but otherwise I would give this product a miss.
Clairol Herbal Essences 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner is scented with the delightful "berry, tea and orange flower essences" and smells like a delicious treat, but does it cleanse and moisturise at the same time?
This hair care product is widely available, I got mine from Boots which are currently offering them on a Buy-One, Get-One-Free basis (May 2010) : The usual retail price is £3.49 per 400ml bottle.
The product is to be found in the shampoo aisle, and is one of a large range of Clairol Herbal Essence products - This one is a soft green colour and I think it is the only 2-in-1.
My hair is very dry and errs on the side of frizzy, so anything that promises moisture and conditioning immediately interests me: This says it contains a "moisture balancing formula" but it is for "normal hair".
I have washed my hair with this for the last week or so, and it has not really moisturised my hair at all: I would class this as a nice shampoo, smells divine and feels smooth in your hand, but does not really have any conditioning action - well, not for me anyway.
Personally I still need to add my conditioner after using this shampoo, although others with less tricky hair might not need to. Overall, I would recommend it as a shampoo, but not as a 2-in-1 product particularly: Still needing conditioner afterwards means that you are not saving any time by using this product. Shame, because it looks, feels and smells gorgeous.
Hi Guys, I thought I would write a review on this product from a blokes point of view. To give you a rough idea; my hair type is long and thick, and gets greasy pretty quickly, I end up having to wash my hair every day. So you can see I need a shampoo which will not damage my hair from every day use.
The packaging for this shampoo is really nice and the bottle is very well designed. It has a flat lid so that when you start getting to the last of the shampoo you can stand it on the lid so that you don't end up wasting the shampoo or fighting with it to get the last of it out.
The shampoo and conditioner worked really well for me, it didnt dry my hair out, it didnt leave it wiry and my hair felt thicker and healthier ( I know am starting to sound like the TV ads :-) , also it didnt leave my scalp dry or give me dandruff, and it lathered really easily.
I found this product to be really good and would recommend it for everyday use, but everyone's hair type is different so try it out for yourself and see if it suits you.
Knowing I was coming on holiday for a few days (yes I'm still in not so sunny Weston Supermare lol) I purchased some lovely shampoo and conditioner. However after being here since last year now I have of course had to repurchase shampoo and conditioner a few times!
Now for a while me and my friend who are in a caravan have been bathing at my mates everyday who is just up road however since we have been able to move from a couple of sites that had no running water as we had terrible weather and onto a site with a shower and a loo (pure luxury!) I decided I really wanted to be self sufficient and have showers of a morning instead of traipsing to my mates!
Now the shower here is 50p for 7 minutes and knowing this I decided to deliberately purchase a two in one hair product to clean my hair up with to save time. I'm spending enough money and I resent paying pounds to shower! I spotted this in a Wilkinson's store priced at a pound a bottle and actually simply liked the curvy bottle actually and the price so nabbed it!
200ml clear plastic and as I said slightly curved bottle with a green flip top lid concealing a small hole to the top of it. Through the bottle you can see the light green liquid product through it and then on the front of the bottle in white and silver writing I'm told it is Clairol Herbal Essences, Dazzling Shine 'Moisture Balance Shampoo Plus Conditioner', 2 in 1 'Berry, Tea & Orange Flower Extracts' and that this product is a one stop shop for normal hair. Other information on the back of the bottle includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, ingredients are listed as is the size and contact details for Procter & Gamble are given. It is a nice colour co-ordinated bottle and it stands out in appearance due to it's quality in my opinion and it is informative enough too!
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:
High shine in half the time.
'I'm a heady mix with berry, tea and orange flower extracts. Get both my shampoo power and my conditioning benefits squeezed into one bottle to maintain you hair's moisture balance in one go. Let me take you from normal hair to superstar hair in one gorgeous experience. Berry, berry clean. Berry, berry shiny and a deliciously intoxicating fragrance as well'.
Directions For Use:
Lather, rinse and enjoy. No other bottles necessary.
Me Using It:
Well all you do of course is wash you hair with it of course! I take a small blob of the creamy light green moisturising sort of lotion to my fingers and gently rub it through my damp/wet hair.
It lathers up with ease so really I don't need much and on my just below shoulder length hair I use just short of the size of a 10p piece really per wash.
It smells lovely as promised and it really does smell of berries and it has a wonderful natural sweetness to it and is perfect in my opinion for men, women and/or kids to use with this lovely aroma that it has.
Once lathered I always rinse it well and then repeat before giving my hair then a real thorough rinse and drying it off well. It rinses out with ease and doesn't take long to lose the soapy feeling at all.
However with this I really do feel it cleans my hair but doesn't actually condition it whatsoever. I find it hard to get a brush or comb through and even though I know that I have rinsed my hair out really well I feel that my hair is a little clammy and weighed down some what but saying that once I have blow dried my hair etc it does to be fair to it lose that feeling.
Although I can style my hair, rid myself of the knotty feeling I had when combing/brushing it my hair just doesn't feel conditioned enough for my personal liking. You can of course combat that by using a little leave in conditioner on your hair if you wish to, but me I don't. It simply isn't good enough for me.
Yes my hair feels clean after using this and I know my hair after using this is mega shiny and in a really natural way though I feel that the overall condition of my hair is impaired over time by not conditioning it. Ok for using occasionally and great for emergencies and the smell of this really does get my complimented but I won't buy it again for the struggle it gives me to comb my hair after using it!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc priced usually at a couple of quid a bottle.
