      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A lovely conditioner

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      The anti-frizz range
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      I have used several Herbal Essences products over the years, and generally have good experiences of the range. I have just finished using a bottle of this conditioner and decided to write a review.

      If you are familiar with the Herbal Essences range then you will instantly recognise the slightly curved oblong shape of the bottles. The range includes lots of different variants, and this particular bottle, which is a bright red colour is designed to fight frizz and smooth the hair. There is of course a matching shampoo, and a bottle will set you back a few pounds - but look out for offers as you will often find this range on a buy one, get one free deal.

      ~~~~~~~~
      Citrus fresh
      ~~~~~~~~
      This conditioner is formulated with mandarin oil, and you can definitely detect the strong citrus fragrance as soon as you open the bottle. It is a very sweet smell and although I really like it, I can imagine that some people may find it too sweet or even sickly. The conditioner, which is a pink colour, is quite thick and rich. As I have naturally curly hair, that can get slightly dry, I like the fact that this is rich and creamy. I like my conditioners to really moisturise my hair so I hoped this would do the trick.

      Once on my hair, I leave it for a good few minutes before rinsing off. As the texture is nice and rich this stays on my hair without dripping off. It washes off easily, and instantly my hair feels really smooth and nicely moisturised.

      I always leave my hair to dry naturally, and I find that after using this conditioner my hair it feels very soft and smoother than before washing. It also smells lovely and clean.

      ~~~~~~~~~
      In summary...
      ~~~~~~~~~
      I would say this is on a par with the best conditioners I have used. It moisturises my hair really effectively and it leaves it feeling soft and smooth. It definitely helps tame my frizz and keep my hair manageable and under control. As I stated at the start of this review, I have just finished a bottle of this, but I will definitely be buying this again.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Avoid

        I first noticed this due to the brightly coloured, easy-grip shape bottle, and I bought it purely because it was buy-one-get-one free at Superdrug. Picky aren't I?

        **

        It was clear that I wasn't going to like this the first time I used it.
        When I poured some onto my palm it didn't pool like a cream conditioner does; it has the consistancy of a paste. I also don't like the strong mandarin perfume [I like the shampoo's, but this is more overpowering] or the peach colour - It looks overly artifical and instantly made me wonder about the coloring agents and other chemicals I was merrily rubbing through my hair (not usually something I really think about tbh).

        Also when I've rinsed it all out I still have that slimy feel to my hair... Residue?

        **

        First impressions aside, I've given it a fair chance and have now been using the FRIZZ FIGHTER conditioner for a few week; and in all honesty my hair feels like I've not even used a conditioner on it; it feels like straw.

        More importantly; there's been no sign of improvement on my frizz, although I'll be fair and say there's less then when I tried using the shampoo alone.

        Drying and staying my hair takes longer now and most days I'll just give up and use my straighteners as well, so using this is taking more time out of my day then usual.

        Plus; My hair's been becoming greasy much quicker. The shampoo is partly to blame - it just doesn't clean hair that well, but the conditioner is leaving a residue so I'm splitting the blame 50/50.

        **

        All in all this is a FAIL: I can't wait to use this up so I can go running back to my L'Oreal Elvive and forget that this exists. I've now been put off from trying any more of the new-look Herbal Essences products.

        I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Great product, for reasonable prices.

        I always use conditioner on my hair, as it's extremely thick and does have a tendency to go slightly frizzy.

        I chose this conditioner as it claims it is fizz reducing and it just happened to match my orange bathroom.

        The best thing about herbal essences has got to be the smell, I haven't come across any type of herbal essences product that doesn't smell really beautiful and really fresh, and they always leave your hair smelling great. Especially if you blow dry after washing. This particular one, smells of orange with a hint of grapefruit in it, so it's a really fresh citrus smell.

        This conditioner is quite a thick liquid and slightly orange in colour. It spreads very well on hair, which means you don't need a huge amount.

        I always leave conditioner on my hair for a couple of minutes, I find you get better results that way.

        This conditioner did leave my hair feeling very soft and not frizzy at all. Whether I left it to dry or I blow dried it. I had a few knots in my hair (didn't brush before getting in the shower) and this conditioner seemed to smooth them out, which I found great.

        The bottles in this range are a really strange shape but I really like it, and they come in a range of colours for different hair types. The bottles have a flat top that you just have to press and the little flap opens (hard to explain), but very simple to open with wet hands.
        All the shampoos and conditioners in this range are reasonably priced, and last quite a while. I think they are great value for money, and it's worth it just to make your hair smell really nice.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Not good at what it's meant to be good at but good at everything else!

        After shampooing my hair I always condition it afterwards. I find after washing my hair even with the most gentle shampoo the ends of my hair always seems dried out. The other day I bought this and the matching conditioner to try as I liked the idea of this banishing frizz and thats something else I really suffer from!

        The Packaging:

        This is available in 200ml and 400ml size to purchase. The bottle is a sort of orange coloured and wavy in shape and made of course from plastic. On the front of the bottle I'm told it is Clairol Herbal Essences Frizz Fighter Smoothing Conditioner, Mandarin Oil & Pearl Extract 'I am a fearless tamer from frizzy hair'. On the back of the bottle other information given includes telling me a bit about the product and how to use it, ingredients and size is stated (which in this case is 200ml) and contact details for Procter & Gamble UK are listed (the manufacturer of the product). All in all it's a nice, easy to use bottle with a flip top lid concealing a small hole to the bottom of it so it's reasonably easy to get all of the product out of it without being too wasteful!

        Using It:

        Well of course all you do first it make sure hair is thoroughly clean by washing it first and then making sure all said shampoo is out. I always apply a small dollop of this thickish and light orangy coloured, creamy liquid through my hair from root to tip. I leave it on around a minute or so before I rinse it out and take my time doing it.

        It's easy to apply it and hair absorbs it with ease and it's also easy to rinse out and you can feel it running out of you hair and it really doesn't take long to make sure hair is product free at all.

        Verdict:

        Lovely smell this has as it contains a really sweet but natural smell of oranges so it's suitable for either sex to use in my opinion. Not only that that smell linger on the hair delicately all day long too! However does it work at frizz fighting? Well this is the only thing that let me down with this to be honest. Hair felt silky smooth, nicely fragranced and possessed a nice healthy shine to it and sure through styling I got rid of frizz from my hair as I usually do but don't expect to use this and this is to be the remedy for frizz cos it really isn't!

        All in all it's nice smelling and makes hair soft and silky but as for doing what it's meant to do and making my hair smooth and frizz free...no it really doesn't sadly and I'm a bit gutted with that seeming as it is so good at everything else!

        Expect to pay about £2.23 for a 200ml bottle or £3.40 for a 400ml bottle of this in most good supermarkets etc and of course this is available in different formulations and fragrances too.
