Advantages: Lovely tangerine smell, leaves hair clean, soft and shiny
Disadvantages: Doesn't add volume which it says it does
The last time I went to buy more shampoo I decided to try some new shampoo and always one for a bargain I was tempted by some Clairol Herbal Essences shampoos which were on a buy one get one free at Superdrug. The first shampoo I used was the Fruit Fusions Citrus Lift shampoo.
The shampoo sells for around £2.98 for a 400ml bottle but there are often special offers. Superdrug at the moment is doing buy one get one half price for £2.95 but Tesco is doing an offer buy one get one free for £2.98 so its worth shopping around.
This shampoo is designed for fine to normal hair and is designed to give you uplifting volume. The shampoo contains tangerine, lemongrass and aloe vera extracts and this is what attracted me to the shampoo rather than the fact it was an uplifting volume shampoo.
The shampoo bottle holds 400ml and is a clear bottle with a flip top cap. Unfortunately the cap of my bottle broke after a few weeks, I could still close it but the part that connected it to the bottle had snapped.
The shampoo itself is a bright orange shampoo but is clear in that you can see through it. The smell of the shampoo is the best thing about it, it really smells of tangerines and is wonderful to use first thing in the morning to really wake you up and make you feel refreshed.
Clairol claim that the shampoo will:
- release volume and fullness for a luscious body boost
- reveal radiantly shiny hair that is full of life
- unleash fresh, full hair that knows how to move
Directions - Wet your hair and massage the shampoo in. Clairol then advise you to "indulge in the luscious lather and the energising, refreshing fragrance." Personally I just wash and rinse! I only ever need to shampoo once.
So what do I think of this shampoo. Well I really like it. It has an amazing tangerine smell, its lovely. It is also a fragrance that lasts even after you have dried your hair, if I use my hair straighteners then I can smell the tangerine smell is still there, it's like hot orange! It makes my hair clean, soft and shiny. However on the downside I personally don't think it makes any difference to the volume of my hair. Yes my hair does feel bouncy but then I think any good shampoo does that and I don't think that this shampoo does anymore than any of them. For me that's not a problem as my hair has natural volume. I would buy this shampoo again simply for the scent and the way it leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny. However if you want volume then I can't guarantee that this is the shampoo for you.
Summary: A lovely tangerine smelling hair shampoo by Herbal Essences
