Advantages: fulfills it's hydrating claim, smells of coconut

Disadvantages: best used with the shampoo I think

I picked up this months issue of Cosmoplitan because it had two small bottles of Herbal Essences 'Hello Hydration' shampoo and conditioner stuck to the cover and I hadn't tried them before.

I can see there are several reviews on the shampoo, but none on the conditioner yet so I will concentrate on that.

First off, I think the colour scheme for the bottles is lovely. The bottle is pearly blue with a green flip cap and a green holographic circle underneath the Clairol logo.

The full name of this particular product is Hello Hydration, moisture and shine conditioner for dry/damaged hair with orchid and coconut extracts.

The blurb on the back of the bottle says "Say 'Hello' to deep drenching of quenching hydration. Massage me in, soak for as long as you like, and say hello to luscious hydrated locks."

I have long hair and the ends are dry (it doesn't help that I haven't had a trim since easter) so this product is right up my street if it lives up to its claims.

The conditioner is thick and a very light blue colour, and it does smell like coconut which is my favourite conditioner smell, with a floral tone too which must be the orchid.

So far so good, I'll be back after I've washed my hair.

The Results

Even though I'm reviewing the conditioner, the shampoo was very good as well, I did notice the hydrating effect when I'd rinsed it out, and to maximise results it must help to use both products. Next time I wash my hair I will use the conditioner only and a different brand of shampoo and update if the results aren't as good.

I only left the conditioner on for a few minutes as I thought leaving it on for a long time might not give a realistic picture of how well it works. Although I am at home with my son and can let conditioner sit on my head for an hour, I know a lot of people wouldn't have time for that.

So three minutes later, and the conditioner has delivered the promised results. I wouldn't say it gives the most shine, or that it's the best conditioner I've ever used(that would be TRESemme for dry hair), but my dry ends do look and feel more hydrated.

I was very pleased with results of the conditioner (and the shampoo). I would say get yourselves doiwn to Superdrug now, and you can buy both full-sized products for £3.22, and save yourself the mind numbing tedium of reading a copy of Cosmo!

Summary: A good choice of hydrating conditioner.
