Advantages: Smells nice when in use
Disadvantages: Read review
When my Mother picked up the matching shampoo as it was on offer at the time she of course got the matching conditioner! I was well pleased when I saw them in our bathroom as I had seen the adverts and really believed it was was going to be good!
The Packaging:
This product is available in the size my Mum purchased which is a 200ml bottle (in this case) and it's also available as a 400ml size. Either way both the bottles are exactly the same. So the bottle is see-through and has a green flip-top lid to the bottom of it. On the front in white writing I'm told it is Clairol Herbal Essences 'Hello Hydration' Moisture & Shine Conditioner Orchid & Coconut Extracts I'll quench your thirst For Dry/Damaged hair. On the back of the bottle I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use are given as well as ingredients being listed, contact details for Procter & Gamble (the manufacturer of the product) are there, the recycle symbol and size are displayed and finally there is bar-code on there. Nice bottle, feels quality and all the information is nicely laid out.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:
Say 'hello' to a deep drenching of quenching hydration with my rich formula containing, orchid and coconut extracts. Immerse yourself ad replenish your hair's much needed moisture. Got thirst for more? Start with my shampoo and treat yourself to my high gloss intensive mask (our gloss, your gain!).
Directions for Use:
Massage me in. soak for as long as you like, then rinse and say hello to luscious hydrated locks.
Me Using It:
Well I washed my hair, rinsed and repeated then made sure I had no shampoo residue left in my hair at all. I then gently rung my hair out and gave it a gentle comb through and then smeared about the size of a 10p piece of this conditioner through and massaged it in. It is quite a thickish, creamy conditioner and is a light turquoise colour. Smell wise, well it's simply divine to be fair to it. It has a lovely and natural smell of coconuts to it enriched with a lovely sweet smell of orchids and is quite sort of tropical.
I found it very easy to evenly distribute and a little went a long way and I left it on a couple of minutes and then rinsed it out.
It wasn't easy to rinse out as I wasn't sure if I had for ages. My hair felt clammy, quite brittle and when I was sure I'd removed the product properly my hair felt rather hard to comb through.
When I did comb my hair, my hair felt smooth enough, was left with a nice smell but it didn't 'feel' conditioned as such.
I gently dried my hair with little products afterwards and my hair when dried felt soft enough, had an ok shine but lost the fragrance also immediately.
Verdict:
Not a good conditioner however it is a better product in my view than the shampoo and without using this my hair would have been left in terrible condition so I am left wondering if this would fare better if used in conjunction with any different shampoo other than the matching one that's offered!
My hair after using this felt a bit dry and clammy all at the same time, was easy to style but overall felt limp and lifeless and sadly as I have said already the smell doesn't stay about at all. Not a horrible conditioner but as for hydrating my hair? I beg to differ on that opinion!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists and expect to pay about £2.19 for this 200ml and about £3.26 for the 400ml size.
Summary: Not for me this one!
