Advantages: Non
Disadvantages: It leaves your hair dry and frizzy and is a pain generally to use as packaging pants!
So....I am wondering round Tesco in need of Shampoo and conditioner, as I have been well and truly crunched since having the 2 sprogs, I haven't the cabinets laden with goodies.....expensive and scrummy goodies at that!!! I actually had run out of EVERYTHING!!! Not like me at all.
So, to give you a bit of an insight into my hair and shampoo and conditioner requirements....I have long waist length hair. It is dark brown, tends to dry out and split if not loved and looked after. It is fairly fine, but not 'fine' hair if that makes any sense. It is finer at the front (boo). It also can look frizzy, again if not looked after or comes into contact with a product it doesnlt like! I never blow dry it, and occationally straighten it when I go out or have a minute and want to glam it up at work!!! so its genrally naturally wavey!
So......Tesco......I am looking for a deal, I was hoping for a good price on Pantene, which generally leaves my hair happy and shiney. It was full price...booo. So..Aussie??? Smells a bit bubble gummy, but good results...poo..full price again. Then I see these bright and bold coloured re designed and fully re branded Clairol Herbal Essences 2 400ml bottles for £4.00!!! Bargain!! So i am looking at the display and see 'Hello Hydration' Moisture and shine shampoo and conditioners....Orchid and Coconut extracts. I quote ' I'll qvench your thirst' for dry and damaged hair.....hmmmmm
So, in the trolley it goes....
So, next morning, I happily shampoo and condition. It smell 'nice' nothing to right home about, a simple bland shampoo that you would expect from a bargain own brand perhaps...with a slight coconut undertone. Orchid??? Erm no. And when my hair dried, no smell really at all. Now I don't blow dry, so generally speaking, it smell nicer for longer.
The colour was lovely, a bright aqua like the bottle. It has a pearly glow to the thick conditioner. I have to say, the shampoo is identical in colour and consistancy!!! More on this later........
So, I comb my wet hair through as usual. Its left to dry naturally as usual. Normally when I swap shampoo and conditioner, I get a lovely result. Years ago a stylist of mine said that it is good to change product now and again as hair can get used to regular products and they stop working as well as in the past. Not sure if this is the case, but generally works for me. give it a break, get on well with a new brand, but return to Pantene!
This time with 'Hello Hydration' I didnt get the lovely new shampoo and conditioner results....my hair was having a fairly bad hair day, it dried to a bit of a frizz, not its usual glossy jvst washed wave!!!! Gutted, it got shoved up for the day. It never has improved, i have for the last month not been at all happy with my hair. My main other complaint is that it has seemed to need washing and conditioning more.....too harsh?? Not enough conditioning elements in the formula??? Think soooo!!!!
My other MAJOR gripe and annoyance. The bright coloured packaging that alured me to this pile of toot, is far too similar. It is a yin and yang shape of bottles, in that the shampoo and conditioner fit into each other neatly...nice I think....one in lid up ( shampoo) the conditioner is lid down. They are however idential in ovter colour and size. The colour and consistancy of each is also identical...a worry! So when in the shower in the morning quicky getting washed before getting the kids up to try and get them out the door for nursery, you have to READ the packaging...not just a grab for the darker colour for shampoo. Its not largely written...its just part of the blurb. this is so annoying, and very very inconvenient!
I will not recommend this product to anyone, I have dry frizzy hair that is in desperate need of a trim after 4 weeks of use. This is very premature for a cut....not a hydrating product that works well for dry hair, quite the reverse.
Please avoid.
Summary: AVOID!!!!
