Advantages: Gorgeous smell, does hydrate.

Disadvantages: Maybe hydrates a bit too much.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration is designed for dry hair or damaged hair and is supposed to give the hair extra moisture and shine. A friend recommended it due the fact that I straighten hair every day which does dry it out.

My review regarding this Herbal Essences shampoo is mixed. This is due to Herbal Essences having changed the shampoo.

I absolutely used to love the old shampoo its scent was nice, it came in a nice bottle and didn't irritate my scalp. The shampoo really did used to hydrate my hair, it would leave my hair feeling so much heathlier and shinier than before. After this first use this shampoo became my regular shampoo which I use every time I wash my hair.

However, since Herbal Essences have changed the shampoo I am not so keen. The shampoo has took on a more creamy texture which seems to irritate my sensitive scalp slightly. The orchid and coconut shampoo still smells gorgeous, with a slightly sweet coconut smells which lingers on the hair. And the bottle is probably nicer now as it is a sleeker curved bottle. When I first wash my hair with the new shampoo I find it looks heathly and shiny however after one sleep my hair appears quite greasy.

Herbal Essences is about £3 a bottle but there is always a buy one get one free offer on at some retailer. I used to stock up when Boots had the old shampoo as I would also get my points (same with Tesco I suppose).

I used to love this shampoo but I am afraid since its changed I'm on a look out for a new shampoo, least I've still got two bottles stacked up of the old one :)

Summary: Its a shame that Herbal Essences decided to change the actual shampoo and not just the bottle.

They shouldn't have changed them - they used to do an excellent one for sensitive scalps that left my hair squeaky clean. The new ones just aren't quite as good as the old!
