If you go take a look at the last ten reviews I've written, one of them was Dove shampoo. I claimed it was my holy grail. The best thing I've ever used. The one shampoo I would never stray from.
I lied.
Well, technically, I didn't lie. At the time I wrote it, all of those things were true, but then I cam across this little beauty and it changed my opinion straight away.

I first came across Clairol Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo at my friends house. I'd stayed the night and totally forgot to take my own shampoo and conditioner with me, so in turn, had to use hers. It was then that I decided I could never go back to using Dove...

Hello Hydration comes in a tall, blue plastic bottle which has a wiggly edge on the right side of it (or the left if you're looking at it from behind). It has a flip top lid which is bright green in colour and is made of hard plastic. Through the blue plastic bottle, you can see a lovely blue shampoo which looks 100% luxurious and creamy. On the front of the bottle is the Herbal Essences logo, the shampoo name and the hair type it is for - in this case it is Dry/Damaged Hair. On the back it says "Get drenched, quenched and revive that shine. Luscious shine starts with deep hydration, so take a deep dive into high shine. Replenish your pretty parched head with my rich formula with orchid and coconut extracts. Do you have a thirst for more? Splash out on my conditioner and treat yourself into my high-gloss intensive mask." There is also a few jokes which are continued onto the conditioner bottle.

As you'll know if you've read my previous shampoo reviews, I like to wait until I've used the shampoo for a month before reviewing it, so that's just what I did.

The shampoo itself is blue with a pearly sheen to it and is a runny, but thick consistency. Kind of like a milkshake I guess. It lathers extremely well, therefore you only need a small amount (my hair is extremely thick and comes down around 1cm past my bra and I only need one squirt of it).

After the first wash (at my friends house), my hair felt completely different. It was more than twice as shiny than it usually is, and it was so soft. You really have no idea how soft it felt. It was like silk. My hair also retained the scent of the shampoo ALL DAY LONG! It was a very fruity, tropical scent, I couldn't (still can't!) pick out certain scents - I certainly can't smell the coconut or orchid, so god knows where they went! Never mind, it still smells divine.

Fast forward a month and 1 and a quarter 500ml bottles of shampoo, my hair is in the best condition it's been since before I started dying it. People comment on how silky and soft it is all the time. My friends have been hugging me twice as often just to smell my hair and one of the waiters at TGI Fridays even stopped to comment on my hair!

I wash my hair everyday (sometimes twice depending on what time I go to the gym) and in the past month I'm only my second 500ml bottle.

You can find this shampoo at Boots, Asda, Tesco, Superdrug...pretty much anywhere that sells shampoo. It cost anywhere from £1-£4 depending on where you buy it and which offers are on. I buy mine from Tesco and they have been costing me around £2.94.

If you don't want to buy the 500ml bottle without trying it, they sell a smaller bottle which is 200ml I believe (don't quote me on that, I could be wrong).

- Luxurious look and feel.
- Leaves hair feeling 100x better after the first wash.
- Reasonable price.
- Widely available.

Thank you for reading!
