Advantages: Initial smell

Disadvantages: Read review lol

There are certain products that come out that I get excited to try and when this came on offer at my local supermarket and my Mother bought it I was right happy to see it appear in my bathroom! I've seen the adverts and believed it's promises before I even tried it type of thing lol.

The Packaging:

200ml (also available in 400ml looking the same) clear plastic bottle of which you can see the product through. It has an integrated bright green flip-top lid to the top of it and on the front all in white writing I'm told it is Herbal Essences 'Hello Hydration' Moisture & Shine Shampoo Orchid & Coconut Extracts 'I'll quench you thirst for Dry/Damaged hair'. On the back of the bottle I'm told a bit about the product and how to use it, ingredients are listed, contact details for Procter & Gamble are given (the manufacturer of the product), the recycle symbol is shown, size is stated and finally there is a bar-code on there. It's a very nice quality bottle to the touch and I like the design and think all the information is very well laid out indeed. It just looks nice!

A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:

Luscious shine starts with deep hydration, so take a deep dive into high shine. Replenish your pretty parched head with my rich formula with orchid and coconut extracts. Do you have a thirst for more? Splash out on my conditioner and treat yourself to my high-gloss intensive mask.

Directions For Use:

Lather up. rinse out and repeat. Your hair'll lap it up and you'll be good to glow.

Me Using It:

Well to use basically you follow the instructions given. I wet my hair and squeezed about the size of a 10p out into the palms of my hands. It's a light, creamy looking, glossy liquid that isn't too runny or drippy and is of nice consistency.

Smell wise, well it's simply divine! Quite tropical, it has a base fragrance of rich coconuts topped with an air of orchids to it. It smells natural and not too heavy or faked and I splodged it into my hair and gently massaged it in. As soon at the liquid touched my hair it seemed to really froth up into nice white, rich bubbles and the smell had me in heaven. I couldn't believe how nice it was to use! However....

It went downhill fast from there!

It was hard to rinse out and when I eventually felt I'd removed it my hair was left weirdly clammy and limp and incredibly dry and parched. It smelt nice but the feel (while it was still wet) was simply awful liked I'd used a really cheap and nasty shampoo! However I persevered and I decided to repeat the process and use it again so I did the same and rinsed it out for ages.

There is no way I could not of used conditioner after using this. I tried to put a comb through my hair and it was awfully dry and knotty like I'd stripped out all of the natural moisture from my hair. My hair because of it's nasty feel didn't feel clean at all. I was worried now! Hair still felt clammy and dry when I did manage to finally comb it through before conditioning it.

Verdict:

Why it's called hello hydration I'm not one bit sure! By the time I used the matching conditioner hair when dry, was still left limp with a really weird feel. Yes I guess my hair looked shiny enough but not only does hair feel not so great the smell (the only good thing about this range of products in my opinion) is fast to disappear to.

Not recommended from me on any level I'm afraid and I feel it doesn't live up to it's claims!

Expect to pay about £2.19 for this size or £3.26 for a 400ml size (Unless it's on offer!).

Summary: Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I tried a free sample of this a few months ago and I thought it was really good! Maybe they changed it since then?!
I think the smell is really nice and it lingered on my hair for a good 2 days.

I love the seductively straight ones from Herbal Essences but haven't tried this one.
