Advantages: It makes a good rich lather.

Disadvantages: The orchid oil is masked by the smell of the coconut oil.

Clairol Herbal Essences is normally a brand of shampoo that I look at, maybe pick off the shelf and then never end up buying.
The latest range from Clairol is no less than intriguing, the vivid colours of the shampoo are electrifying and there is no doubt that you are drawn towards investigating the bottles.
There are ten groups in this Clairol range and each group has been designed to care for a particular hair type, for example if you have hair that is prone to breaking off then you would choose a shampoo from the anti-breakage range.

I have dry hair so I chose the Hello Hydration moisture and shine shampoo and it was a good deal at 95p for a 200ml bottle.
Clairol have let their imagination run riot with the colour and the Hello Hydration shampoo is azure blue, as if the colour is not strong enough on its own the plastic bottle is pale blue too to which deepens the colour even further.
The plastic bottle has a flip top which does need a firm flip, the opening is quite small and only lets a small amount of shampoo flow through at any one time so there is no spillage.

Clairol have used extracts of orchid and coconut oil in this product and point out that those rich oils will give your hair a high shine.
When you squirt a blob of the Hello Hydration shampoo into the palm of your hand the colour looks alarmingly artificial but the silky liquid is thick and pearly.
There is one smell that is there as soon as you squeeze the bottle and that is the coconut oil. The rich creamy coconut smell is lovely but it overpowers the orchid and pushes it too far into the background.

One small blob is sufficient to create a healthy amount of creamy lather. The white, rich, thick lather is easily worked up and once there it stays for as long as you want to massage it into your hair .
During the lathering process I could not for the life of me smell the Orchid oil but was happy enough to settle for the comforting smell of the coconut oil.
Though the lather is rich it is not as rich as some of its competitors but it is long lasting.

I always rinse well, it is so important to remove all traces of the shampoo. The Clairol Hello Hydration rinses away easily, a couple of jugs full of warm water and it has vanished.
Once my hair was thoroughly rinsed I could still smell the coconut oil and that smell stayed with me even when I was using the hair-dryer to style my hair.

I can only ever wash my hair once, if I repeat the process it makes my hair so soft it becomes unmanageable.
After using this Clairol shampoo my hair remained soft but easy enough to style and it felt clean as a whistle.

My Clairol Hello Hydration experience was a positive one, the shampoo worked well though I have to add that though my hair smelt good and felt clean the amount of shine created was no different to when I have used other hair products.
If Clairol put this shampoo on the shelves again at such a good price I may well buy more in the future, it is a competent product even if I failed to smell the orchid oil!

Summary: If the price is right then I will buy it again.

I didn't like this shampoo at all, it left my hair feeling dry. I wish they hadn't changed the Herbal Essences range :)
