*Introduction*
I am not in the slightest bit loyal to any shampoo. I tend to choose whichever shampoo and conditioner is on offer (within reason) so that I can save myself a little bit of money to then spend on more important things like makeup, creams, clothes, bags, shoes, etc. My hair has been very dry since I have been over in Belgium, quite like my skin. It must be the water. So when I saw Herbal Essences Herbal Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner on offer, I thought that this might be perfect at helping to restore some hydration in my hair.
*About the Product (according to Herbal Essences)*
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo has a shine and moisture formula which contains orchid and coconut extracts to quench the thirst of dry and damaged hair. Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo gives a luscious shine to hair with its deep hydrating formula, so take a deep dive into high shine. Replenish your pretty parched head with its rich formula containing orchid and coconut extracts.
*Application*
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration shampoo is to be used on wet hair. Squeeze a small amount of the shampoo into the palm of your hand. I find that the size of a fifty pence piece is usually sufficient for my shoulder length hair Lather the shampoo by massaging it gently into your scalp and along the length of your hair, down to your ends. I usually do this for about 4 minutes, ensuring that I have covered my entire scalp. Once you are satisfied that you have covered the whole of your scalp, you simply rinse away the shampoo with warm water. Repeat this again if necessary.
For the best results, you should combine using this shampoo with Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner.
*Price and Availability*
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo is widely available to buy. You can find this shampoo on the shelves of stores like Boots, Savers, Wilkinsons and Superdrug as well as in supermarkets like Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury. Alternatively, if you, like me, like to shop online, then you can visit www.boots.com and you are a few clicks away from having it delivered directly to your door.
You can buy this shampoo for £2.09 for a 250ml bottle or £3.59 for a 400ml bottle. The price of this shampoo is around the same as most shampoos of this quality, so it is neither cheap nor expensive in my opinion. Herbal Essences shampoos and conditioners are frequently on offer, especially in Boots, so my advice is to keep an eye out and buy them as part of a buy one get one free deal if you can. It then feels likes you have got a real bargain.
*My Opinion*
The packaging: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo is a bright blue coloured 400ml plastic bottle. The bottle is translucent but it is tinted a bright blue colour and you are able to see how much of the shampoo is in the bottle throughout its duration. The shampoo bottle is very big so if you are looking for a small compact one then this is not for you. This bottle does take up quite a lot of space on your bathroom shelf, especially alongside its equivalent conditioner. The width of the bottle is the same from top to bottom although the shape of it curves in the middle and out again. I like this about the bottle as it gives it a fun shape. The very top of the bottle (the lid) pushes downwards and there appears a hole where you can dispense the shampoo. The lid is at the top and is mostly blue with the very top part being green in colour.
I like the design of this shampoo bottle. The lid of the bottle is at the top however the lid is flat therefore you can leave it upside down to drain the dregs when it gets to the end of the bottle. The design of this shampoo bottle is fashionable and trendy so it looks great on your shelf in the bathroom.
Colour, texture and smell: This shampoo is a light blue, translucent colour. The texture is gel like and quite thick. The texture of the shampoo then changes when it is massaged into your scalp as it turns into a white bubbly lather.
The smell of this shampoo is of coconut, as described in the products description. I didn't read this before I purchased the product, as I actually prefer fruitier scents, like strawberries, grapefruit or citrus. I applied this, not really expecting to like it very much so you can imagine my surprise to find that I was actually quite fond of it. It is not an overwhelming scent but it does last on your hair for a few hours after it has been applied so if you hate the smell of coconuts buying this shampoo would not be advisable.
Does this shampoo quench the thirst of dry and damaged hair? It most certainly does. My hair went from feeling dry and looking damaged to feeling hydrated and refreshed and looking glossy.
Does this shampoo give a luscious shine to hair with its deep hydrating formula? Yes, yes, yes. My hair was not only left feeling clean but it had a glossy shine to it also. I was absolutely delighted with the outcome of using this shampoo.
Longevity of the product: I would say that a 400ml bottle of Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo tends to last me approximately 3-3 and a half months when used every day. Therefore the longevity is not bad at all in my opinion. I would say that most people will actually get their bottle to last for quite a bit longer as not everyone washes their hair everyday like I do.
*Would I Recommend This Shampoo?*
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo, like other Herbal Essences shampoos that I have used previously, is excellent. I would recommend this shampoo if you are looking for one which will leave your hair looking and feeling clean, is priced as a reasonable cost and helps to give your hair back its hydration. I think that this shampoo is perfect whether your hair is short or long, it will help to take away that dry feeling. I would recommend this product if you like the smell of coconuts. I am not usually a massive fan of coconut. I like the smell generally, but I wouldn't have chosen it as the smell of my shampoo but I was surprised by how nice this scent on my hair was.
*Overall*
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo is a gorgeous shampoo that leaves your hair smelling of coconut, feeling hydrated and looking glossy. It is also a product that is often on offer in Boots therefore you can get it for quite a good price. I am not faithful to the shampoo that I use. I like trying out different shampoos and conditioners but I would certainly buy Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo again as I have definitely had a positive experience using it.
Summary: A great shampoo to rehydrate your hair
