Advantages: cleans hair, smell good

Disadvantages: none

For the last few years I have only used Head and Shoulders when washing my hair, but this week, for no particular reason I decided to use a different shampoo. (Maybe I got the urge) well, as they say a change is as good as a holiday.

So as you’ve probably guessed I chose to use Herbal Essences shampoo instead. It is made by clairol and is suitable for all hair types. This particular one that I am using is an anti-dandruff shampoo which has iris, chrysanthemum and mulberry root mountain spring water. I do get dandruff occasionally.

The shampoo comes in a 250ml clear plastic bottle with a dark green lid, and you can see that the shampoo is a transparent light green. One thing I noticed about the bottle is that from the front you can see through the shampoo to a flower/herb picture that is printed on the back of the sticker placed on the back of the bottle which tells you about the shampoo. It looks very good when the bottle is full.

I have never used any of the other herbal essences shampoos, but the label on the back of the bottle tells me that they are all made with natural organic herbs and botanicals that come to us in pure mountain spring water, this will leave your hair feeling refreshed, revived and full of shine. This shampoo that I am using is anti-dandruff and has been specially formulated for dandruff control and relief from itching and flaking of the scalp. It blends natural iris, chrysanthemum and mulberry root with other plant derived ingredients to leave your hair luxuriously soft and healthy looking. (I thought these were just pretty flowers in the garden)

So I got the urge to use it and I did. On opening the lid of the bottle I could immediately smell it. It was a lovely smell. It was fruity and quite strong, but very nice.

I wet my hair, then squeezed some of the shampoo into the palm of my hand. I massaged it all into my hair. I found that the shampoo lathers up really well. The bottle says t
o leave it on your hair for 1-3 minutes, which I did and then rinsed it all off. I have shoulder length hair and I usually allow it to dry naturally rather than using a hair dryer (unless I’m in a rush.) So after allowing my hair time to dry I checked it. I found that it did feel soft and clean, and there was no sign of any dandruff. Although the shampoo smelt quite strong whilst I was using it, it didn’t leave my hair smelling strongly of berries, it was only a faint pleasant smell after it had dried.

So how does this compare to my usual shampoo. Well, I think they are just as good as each other. They both leave my hair clean and soft. Just two things that make herbal essences a winner. The bottle looks better on the bathroom shelf, and it leaves the bathroom smelling lovely after I have used it.

I love their Fruit Fusions range, but haven't tried many of their normal stuff. Good op. x
