Advantages: Moisturising, Lovely aromas, Natural ingredients, Lots of lather for small amount

Disadvantages: None

I have been using Clairol's Herbal Essences shampoo for normal hair since the beginning of February. It is an excellent shampoo and leaves your hair feeling soft and clean, whilst also smelling fresh of flowers. There are a variety of flavours that you can buy, each with different scents, most of which are rainforest scents.

The one I am using now has jasmine as a main ingredient with other flowery scents. After using it, your hair remains with a lovely fragrance. You may use hair conditioner after, which will dominate this fragrance but I am sure your conditioner will leave it twice as soft and smelling pleasant.

Each flavour will come in a different bottle, but they all have the same basic look. They are plastic and transparent with a coloured lid that matches the rest of the colour scheme depending on the flavour. When looking through the front, you can see a design on the inside of the paper from the back label. Mine shows a jasmine plant, and it adds to the sensation when using it and really puts you in the atmosphere. The bottle is very simple with ingredients on the back and detailed descriptions of the shampoo.

The shampoo itself is also coloured depending on what flavour you get. It has quite a thick and dense consistency, which helps it to make loads of lather.

Most of the ingredients are natural in order to create such fabulous aromas as well as leaving your hair silky soft. This specific one is for normal hair; however you can also get ones for coloured hair and damaged hair to re-vitalise them and bring them back to life! They work really well and I would highly recommend you try it out. They say that the shampoo will replenish hair's natural moisture, which it does seem to do. The other ingredients consist of some chemicals such as sulphates, sodium chloride and citric acid. Don't let these chemicals put you off as they are all there for a specific job in leaving you with great hair!

It is very easy to use. All you need to do is flick open the lid, where you will find a little hole. Flip the container upside down and pour just a little bit onto wet hands. Rub your hands together whilst putting your hair under warm water and soaking it. Once you have built up a good lather, massage it into your hair thoroughly, making sure you go right to the roots. The thing that is great about this shampoo is that it builds up a lot of lather that fills your hair to wash it thoroughly.

It will last you ages, because you only need a drop to wash a lot of hair. I bought a 200ml bottle for £1.99 at Tesco, which I thought was a fair price. I have just about gone through a quarter of it since the beginning of February, so it is lasting me a long time.

They can be used for men and women, and work very well on any normal hair. If you have damaged or coloured hair, you may want to try some of the products from their other specific ranges for these hair types.
