Advantages: Smells beautiful, works

Disadvantages: No better than cheaper alternatives

*The look*
The bottle of this product contains 400ml shampoo which is a pleasant translucent yellow colour, and an image of yellow peonies printed inside the bottle shows through the liquid which is a nice touch and looks good. The back is less attractive with quite a lot of writing, but there is a nice fact about Celandine (one of the contents) being used by alchemists to make the philosopher's stone.

*The experience*
The lid is a flip top which is a little stiff. The shampoo smells beautiful - supposedly of Celandine, Water Lily and Peony, which sounds fabulous. It is an intense sweet and flowery perfume. The shampoo expands very well on application to wet hair into a smooth foam which is enjoyable to rub through your hair like in the infamous 'oh yeees!' adverts.

*The outcome*
I noted that my hair way soft and shiny, but the effect of this shampoo over other alternatives (such as Tesco's apple shampoo) is minimal in my experience. The claims on the bottle such as of the shampoo having a "luxurious revitalising formula" are a little overstated, though not entirely untruthful.

*The price*
At £2.98, I only purchase this shampoo when it is on offer as I do not believe it confers any advantages to my hair over cheaper alternatives.

Realistically, this shampoo is more favourable because of its scent than its benefits to the health and look of your hair. I think its popularity may owe to its clever advertising the placebo effect which this produces (i.e. the belief that the hair looks better) rather than an actual impact on the hair.

Summary: Worth it as a treat for the lovely scent
