Advantages: Nice smell, Bought it on an offer
Disadvantages: Didn't seem to contain conditioner, Didn't live up to its romise of silky smooth hair
I was drawn to Clairol Herbal Essences 2 in 1 shampoo because it was on a two for one offer. Being a student this was an important thing for me as I find shampoo to be extremely expensive. I bought the dry/damaged hair type as my hair is quite frizzy and dry so I thought this shampoo would help to alleviate my problem! I was fascinated with all the natural ingrediants.. this one in particular contains Peony, hibiscus and vitamin E. It claims to "leave hair manageable and looking its healthy best - luxuriousy soft and silky, with radiant shine." What a load of codswallop! I used the product as directed and I noticed no difference to normal shampoo that doesn't contain conditioner. My hair was not manageable it was all over the shop, even frizzier than when I started! it was definately not silky smooth and at its healthy best. It would have needed twice as much conditioner to get to to look like that. Bearing in mind that this shampoo is for dry hair it definately didn't add any moisture to it at all. I was completely disapointed, especially as I had two bottles of the stuff. I have even persevered with this shampoo to see if the results improve with prolonged use but I'm afraid to say that they do not. If I do use this shampoo I make sure i use a good conditioner afterwards. The only good thing about this shampoo is the scent as it does smell really pleasant. Maybe I was too hopeful that this shampoo would help? If your hair is a bit dry it might help you to some extent but I would honestly recommnd you buy an extra conditioner if you are going to use this product!

- 24/07/01 The bad news is that 2-in-1s should only be used now and then anyway - they ruin your hair! And Tim hit the nail on the head about that appalling advert! Myfanw - have you tried Original Source? They have loads of natural ingredients and smell great. The ones I've used have been excellent. Cheers - Kaz |
