Advantages: Smell nice
Disadvantages: The present ads are pretty lame
Yes, I admit it! I'm a serial hair abuser. My hair is coloured. I use a hairdryer all the time. I'm just too impatient to wait for it to dry on it's own. On top of that, I have fine hair, so I'm expecting a lot from a conditioner. For years I've used Body Shop Banana conditioner and been happy with the results. I have rather dry, sensitive skin, so I've always had to be careful what products I use. I wasn't looking to change conditioners, but, in simple terms, I ran out of Body Shop brand and wasn't going shopping again for at least a week. Too long to survive without washing my hair, so I went to the local convenience store. There I came upon Herbal Essences for Coloured/ Permed/ Dry/ Damaged/ Abused/ Mis- Handled/ Neglected/ Badly Treated/ Unappreciated Hair. OK, so I added a few of my own but you get the idea. 250ml cost me £2.19. My Body Shop stuff now costs £4 for the same amount but I can dilute it, so it probably works out much the same. The smell of it in the bottle has a very strong plastic undercurrent so I only bought it because I was desperate. Having used it though, I was very pleasantly surprised to find how nice it smelled on my hair. More importantly, it doesn't irritate my scalp. I couldn't believe it when I first tried it as I was counting the days until I could go shopping and get some decent stuff. No itchiness at all. So far, so good. So how does it perform? I have to say very well on my hair. It's shiny, soft, full and very sleek. It wasn't before I can tell you. This lasts a couple of days before it starts to go greasy. I presume this is because of the moisturising content but since I don't usually go longer than this without washing my hair, it's not a problem. My boyfriend likes the smell so that's OK. Well, you can't use it if your fella doesn't like it, can you. I will say it takes a while to work through my hair becaus
e the thick consistency is more like a soft cream than a liquid. It reminds me of a wax based shoe cream I once had. Perhaps if I'd tried that it would have done the same job? Who can say. One rather unimportant but nice feature is the top. It's wide enough to stand the bottle upside down for all those times when you're in a hurry, but still want to use what's in the bottom. Just leave it standing on its head 'til next time you want to use it. The flip-up top avoids all the messiness of trying to screw the lid back on when you've a handful of conditioner. It's made by Procter and Gamble. I couldn't find a website but if anyone knows of one then I'll be happy to add it. So there you have it. Fairly short and sweet on this one, but how excited can you relly get over conditioner. It either does what you want it to, or it doesn't. This one does and I like it.
