'Discover the Herbal Essences Silk n' Shine Collection for a post organic glow'... Herbal essences silk and shine shampoo is a new fusion of rose hips, johoba and vitamin E.


The shampoo that I have is for dry and damaged hair. It is the new silk n' shine formula. It comes in a clear 8 inch plastic bottle through which you can see pictures of pink roses in bloom. It has a large picture to the front of a rose, and herbal essences written around it. It states 'Shine with satisfaction' beside this. The contents is 400 ml, and the shelf life is 12 months. There is also a full list of ingredients to the reverse of the bottle.


This new formula contains rose hips, johoba, and vitamin E diluted in spring water. The clairol essences range are made from 100% organic pure botanicals, and the wonderful concoction revitalises the hair and senses. This luxurious formula is created to bring us protection for hairs vitality, to help replenish and penetrate, to help with the moisture levels within the hair, and to create a silkiness, and a radiant shine.


The shampoo method is to pour some fragrant herbal essences into your palm, and massage onto the head, until you have obtained a rich lather, then breathe in the full intoxicating aroma of the rose smell, it really is quite divine. Leave for a minute, then rise thoroughly. The smell not only revitalises the hair but seems to lift the spirits also. The shampoo also acts as a light conditioner, to smooth the fibre of the hair, and it leaves your hair in very silky condition. To combine the shampoo with the silk 'n' shine conditioner really does makes a difference, and adds greatly to the conditioning of the hair.


I actually bought both a while ago in 400 ml bottles, and they have lasted me well. It does make the hair very silky and in good condition. I would definitely recommend both the silk 'n' shine shampoo and the conditioner. 'Herbal Essences Silk n' Shine Conditioner contains wheat protein, wheat starch and palm-derived moisturisers which caress every hair strand, making the hair feel and look silky-smooth. The hair is not overloaded, leaving its structure intact and allowing you to create this year's sexy, dishevelled look'. I think it may also have the 'yes factor!' ;)


There is a small piece of trivia to the back of the bottle, entitled 'Herbal Lore', that says, 'Ancient Greeks believed roses became red from the blood of Aphrodite, who priced her foot on a thorn trying to save her beloved Adonis'.
